How are the chicken, salmon and steak?

My son ordered the steak and a Caesar salad 6 out of 7 nights on our Alaskan cruise. He was in 7yo boy heaven.

    Character and Show Discussion Thread

If you see my post from earlier about my mini-Spiderman meeting Spiderman, Spidey sat down and chatted with me/my 2yo from a safe distance (plus we were still having to social distance on the ship when the photo was taken) until my little Spidey got more comfortable

What is your Favorite Character Interaction/Photo?

My 2 yo meeting SpiderMan in his spidey hoodie. He was a bit hesitant so Spidey said it’s ok, take your time and plopped down to the deck to sit while Walter got comfortable. He got nice and comfy and then I thought we would unmask the little Spidey… well he got shy again!

How easy is it to go back to ship at port to drop child off?

We did it at almost every port in Alaska, but there are no tenders and most docks are easily walkable from the main tourist area.

With so many cruise lines/itineraries, how do you decide?

We did a glass pulling excursion through DCL that also went to local art galleries. And bought some beautiful Russian Christmas ornaments. Oh look, it's still offered on DCL's page: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/sitka-alaska-art-walk-italian-glass-experience/ We did...

With so many cruise lines/itineraries, how do you decide?

Sitka was BEAUTIFUL! Our first Alaskan cruise was the first DCL 10 day in 2011 that went to Sitka.

    Family outfit inspiration

For boarding I made matching t shirts and the cast members LOVED them! I did matching outfits for my boys for formal night and tried to coordinate myself and my husband.

    Packing for 2 weeks plus

I am loving detergent sheets for travel. We used them on our Alaskan cruise. No chance of them popping and I found scent-free ones for my scent-sensitive family. They got the clothes clean and were so easy to pack.

    OKW Lovers Thread. Part 2

We took our about to turn 3yo in Feb (along with Aunty and Uncle, Grandma and Grandpa and our 7.5 yo). We did 5 park days (one for each park except 2 for MK). We packed lunches so we could eat in lines and anywhere when we were hungry and got groceries so the kids had familiar snacks. The...

Alaska - Whale Watching & Crab Lunch Recommendations

I have no idea, it goes around the visitor’s center and over a bridge with a creek where you check water temperature and maybe something else for the science part and they talked to the kids about different types of trees and other stuff. I was carrying my 2yo and it was a relatively flat and...

    OKW Lovers Thread. Part 2

It was our first time too, we loved it! If you have time, the main pool is really fun and we had fun playing the afternoon pool games one day. Take the boat to Disney Springs, it's lovely, though it does drop you at the very far end of DS. Any bus will take you to the main building before...

    No Park/Flex Day recommendations?

We did a pool day and then late lunch early dinner at Disney Springs on our official off day and on a non Disney day we did mini golf and an ice cream lunch at the beaches and cream walk up window

Do you ever use the full cooker?

We just stayed in a grand villa for 7 nights. We cooked dinner all but the first night and had every breakfast in the room. We also made and packed in sandwiches for all but 1 lunch on a park day and had 1 special lunch on our off day to celebrate our youngest’s birthday. We spent about $400 on...

First Alaska cruise. Best stateroom choices?

We were still sleeping in an inside (my parents had the veranda), but I would go to Alaska in an inside again for sure. We spent tons of time on deck and while having a bit of space on the veranda would have been nice after the kids were asleep, I didn’t miss it.

Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

I emailed the Grand Floridian for a cake for my youngest’s 3rd birthday celebration to be delivered to Old Key West. It was over Christmas and I got an email back a day or so later to set up a call. We decided on a marble cake with a Mickey theme and chocolate buttercream. I have attached the...
