Gambling

I occasionally play the lottery and I also pay into a football pool and a fantasy football league. I don't go to casinos or play card games online for money.

I'll ocassionally do it. I can usually take 20 bucks and play on a craps table long enough to earn a comp buffet. If I lose the 20 it's just payment for dinner. It can be fun, but I don't do it often and never play beyond my limit, which I might say is 50 bucks but usually lose the stomach for it after about 20.

I do not. When we went to Vegas, I found a quarter on the floor and kept it. That way I could say I left the casino with more money than I went in with.

I like playing poker, and when I go to the track I like to place some bets here and there to make it interesting. Otherwise, gambling doesn't interest me very much.

It's fun for a few minutes, but I'd rather have something to show for my money. I won a few hundred in a cruise ship casino a few years ago(somebody in our group won several thousand dollars the same night.) Last time I was at a casino was about 10 years ago and it was to see Alice Cooper, might have dropped a couple of quarters in a slot machine when were getting ready to go home.

Yep, love it. Scratchoffs whenever I have cash on me. And then we have gone to the casino a lot lately - every weekend 1 - 2x - since Christmas.

Love it, even when we lose. Ha! We never bring more than we can afford to lose, and if we come home with anything, I consider it a success.

It's entertainment, the same way paying for a day in a park is.

I got to go bet on horse races at Del Mar a couple years ago. That was kind of fun! I didn't have any luck at that either, though. Apparently picking them because you think they have a cute name is not a good strategy.

It is as good as playing a slot machine because of the cute cartoon kitties or similar. Which is how I pick them.

When I was young I went to AC once and was handed a big bowl of quarters from someone who wanted to play cards and it had all the allure of putting money into a pay telephone. Been to Vegas a few times and while I did enjoy some of the shows my first thought was,"Winners don't keep the lights on in this town" plus gaming is a bore to me. I think I felt compelled to play the game War once because I was in vegas after all, but there is no excitement or rush. I do like playing cards because strategy is fun but I have no interest in playing for money or competition, it's all lost on me and I just don't get it.

I am fascinated by the big rollers and would happily watch if it was a spectator thing but they don't seem to like lookie loos.

I don't pull slots in Vegas, but have convinced myself that donating money to tribal gambling is a good thing. Here in Yuma the reservation is next to one of two casinos....folks live in sub standard housing and have just finished building a health center.

In oregon, the largest casino supports the state of Oregon by being major sponsor of the Rose Parade, many art festivals and other white culture events. they have built massive infrastructure for health and heritage on their reservation.

So tribal gaming receives all my charitable donations except for Christmas coins and bills for the red kettle
the folks that I gamble with.....do not even drop coins in red kettles so their charity does not even exist so good that they support tribes.

for me it is all about the game of golf, sure you walk on green grass and breathe fresh air, but in the end, it is a very limited social activity and non-areobic walking. At my card games their is more conversation about gambling then golfing. if one is disciplined at gambling...golf and gaming can cost the same...with different economic stimulus goals.

I play what are called Reel Power slots, every line pays with icons match. but what you can do is only play the first 3 reels of the 5 reels on the screen, and then 3x the the ante. it prolongs play but does not win massive jackpots and does set up winning large winnings of 80.00 150.00 on small wagers...but long term you will lose 8 out of 10 days playing this way, just hope that you have two good days. For me a good machine is one that , with a 20.00 bill will give you an additional 25.00 of winnings in small amounts that keep you playing until the original $20.00 bill is gone and depending on the computer on the inside which you are playing against, you can play for hours on the 20.00 or just 30 mins...it is all about where the computer is on distribution of icons.

so this type of gambling for me is mind numbing, fun to see if my methodology of cashing out every win is going to pay off hours down the road and I don't have look for golf balls in rattlesnake infested brush.🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂🦨🦨🦨🦨🌴🌴🌴🌴🌵🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴☀☀☀☀☀☀

When the lottery powerball/mega millions is extremely historical high we play and dream. I've only played the $1 Triple Diamond slots twice and won both times. $250 the first time 14 years ago and $160 a few months ago. Played table games for the first time ever a few months ago, I'm an introvert so I didn't like those or see the appeal. Ultimately, I rather go to Gameworks, play games, and get tickets for cheap prizes. If I do gamble again, it will only be $1 Triple Diamond slots given my luck on that.

I like gambling but basically stuck with slots and video poker. I never won much. Although I did stick $20 into a $5 slot machine and on the second pull won about $500 on our last Vegas trip.

However, a couple years ago at the Planet Hollywood Casino, we discovered a table game called High Card Flush. My husband sat down to play and I watched and learned from the dealer. The game is ridiculously simple and you almost always win something. You have to get bold and bet big to really rake it in, though, which I am all for (my hubs not so much). I sat down next to my husband and in 2 hours, turned my initial $100 to $1250 and then brought my husband back from his meager $40 left to over $700. We ate good that night! We played more the next day. All in, we left home with $600 to play with and came home with about $3000. Not too shabby.

I think most have more fun talking with coworkers about what they are going to do with the money than actually playing, LOL. Had a long conversation yesterday with my office coworker (the one that I said I wish I had a fast forward button in the meme thread, LOL.) He actually has a spreadsheet made up that tells him the cash option after taxes and a list of people with percentages of what he is going to give them. Said I was on the list for $98k of his $400 million after cash and taxes.

In one department area that I work, we were all talking about it. There's one idiot that no one likes and I was saying how neat it would be to hand out envelopes to everyone, and everyone would pull out $100k. When it came to Chuck, I said he's going to open his and pull out $5.

Another chastised me, "You mean you're going to win $300 million and all I'm getting is a lousy $100k?"

"Ah nope. I'm going to rip it right out of your hands and hand it right to Chuck and he's going to have $100,005 you ungrateful...." LOL

I'm not a big gambler at all, like the slots but it's been years since I've been to a casino. I have played the Powerball and Mega Millions the last few weeks, just a couple bucks each. I woke up this morning to find myself $200 richer! I got 3 numbers plus the mega number...so just 2 numbers away from winning it all! It's better than nothing, but you'd think 4 numbers out of 6 would be worth more than $200 lol. Now, I need to decide how to spend my new found riches! I'm thinking a fancy dinner with a nice tip.

I have no interest whatsoever. Been to LV once for a conference, lost $20 and that was enough for me. I can think of a lot of other things I'd rather do with my money.

I do. Have won a few blackjack and slot tournaments on cruise ships. We love Vegas for the shows, meals and the machines/tables. Have a "local-ish" tribal casino an hour or so away - hard to get husband to trek over there.
