Hoopty Doo take-out?

I’ve heard that Hoopty Doo is offering a take-out option for the food that was served there. Has anyone tried this? Any reviews? Where can you sit to eat? Is it crowded? Thank you

Haven't been there to try it in the past year, but Fort Wilderness has always had takeout from the Trail's End/Hoop Dee Doo building at P&J's Southern Takeout. It's basically the exit for Trail's End.

And the menu somewhat resembles Hoop Dee Doo fare - https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/d...d-js-southern-takeout/menus/lunch-and-dinner/

In theory, there used to be seating and tables scattered around the Settlement area at the Fort.

It's my understanding that food for the Hoop Dee Doo and Trail's End dinner buffet was all prepared in the same kitchen. So one could extrapolate that the same kitchen might prepare P&J's....

You're welcome!

In October & November 2020, we had their amazing fried chicken, ribs, cornbread, tasty sides, and strawberry shortcake from PJ's Takeout. They previously shared a kitchen with HoopDeeDoo, so I think this is what you're referring to. The family bundles are a great size and decent price. (An 8-piece fried chicken family meal with a loaf of cornbread and 2 large homemade sdes was around $25.)

Yes, this is what I saw online. I am happy to hear that you liked it!

P&J’s southern takeout is what you are referring to. When we are at the fort we always do one take out dinner from there. The fried chicken is great and the ribs are just ok. The sides are good too. Plenty of seating around the fort with picnic tables scattered about out front. I have never found it to be crowded even pre COVID. Make sure to grab a great adult beverage next door at crockets tavern while you wait for the food.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue (dinner show) does not offer a takeout option; that would be P&J’s Southern Takeout. P&J’s is a quick service extension of the buffet style restaurant next door, Trail’s End. All three share a kitchen.

HDDR and TE are currently closed. However, the same fried chicken and ribs can be found at P&J’s. Excellent Family Meals!

We had dinner here after riding around the campsites in a golf cart looking at the Christmas lights last month. Too much food for a family of 4 and it only costs $50. Best value and taste on Disney property in my opinion.

While Trails End is closed for meal service, they have tables scattered around (spaced for social distance) inside the restaurant to sit at while you eat P&Js takeout. Seating is first come, first serve but they are cleaned after being used.

And P&J's did expand their menu during the covid closures of HDDR and TE so it has a pretty robust menu available to eat inside, eat out on the side porch picnic tables or tables down by the beach, or at one's campsite if staying at FW.

I think we’re going to do this too. I’m assuming you got the Family Dinner for 4? It says you can choose 4 sides, and then at the end it says (serves 4-6). My question is, do they mean EACH SIDE is enough for 4-6 people or do they mean each side is a single serving, therefore 4 sides feeds 4 people?

We ordered this package meal last month and it was plenty of food for 4 people. Chicken was tasty. My littles thought the beans were too sweet.

Each side will feed 4 people IMO. Truly great taste and value. Hope you have a great trip. We won’t be back to CC until December. Tonight we have temps in the 50’s and I wish we were there. 😃
