***Official March 2021 Thread***

We’ve always done the dining plan before and focused on character meals so now I’m trying to figure out reasonably priced options in the parks and I’m just hitting a wall. Mk in particular. Just nothing is standing out.

MK is the one that is a struggle for us too! I'm just not excited about any dining options around that day. We are doing Whispering Canyon for dinner and BOG (only because my son really wants to do it again for the West Wing experience). We have three MK days so I think on the other meals we will just do QS, or The Wave (I do have a dinner reservation there).

Ya the dining options are "meh" in my opinion. We always do one castle, which the food is decent but obviously the cost hurts (westwing last time and it was neat). Skippers is probably our favorite TS in MK so we usually hit that also.

Good grief. I have struck out at every single reservation I've tried to make today... Any tips for parties of 8 as the only planner? I tried to book as a party of 4 but I can't book 2 reservations at the same time apparently.

All this talk about food and ADRs..what are some of your favorite meals and snacks in the park? Would love to hear some of your favorites, especially snacks we might try this next trip. We love...
* Yak and Yeti (the ahi tuna is really good)
* The pink alcoholic drink at the kiosk in France (not sure the name)
* Les Halles Boulangerie - Patisserie - almost anything there!!!
* Jungle Juice!!!
* 50s Prime Time -- more for the atmosphere/hijinks than the actual food but the food isn't bad
* Mickey Pretzel
* Mickey Ears Ice Cream
* The mac and cheese/BBQ at Eight Spoon Cafe (guess we will have to get it at Flame Tree this go around)
* Coke stands at the resort -- I know this is an odd one but we don't drink much soda but enjoy it more when we are there...it is a nice treat :)

::MickeyMo Mickey Bars are a must, always!
::MickeyMo Whenever the Brazil booth is out in Epcot that cheese bread is drool-worthy. I feel like you can find it elsewhere on property year-round? I know Skipper's Canteen has it sometimes. Seriously YUM.
::MickeyMo I love a good on-property Hot Dog. Doesn't matter from where.
::MickeyMo The overnight oats from Docking Bay 7 for breakfast
::MickeyMo Ronto Wraps
::MickeyMo The chocolate cherry waffles from Ale & Compass for Breakfast
::MickeyMo Sundaes and shakes from Beaches & Cream (but don't make the mistake I made and try to eat a whole one by yourself XD)
::MickeyMo The Jasmine beer at the China pavilion
::MickeyMo The peach sake at the Japan pavilion (if they still have it...)

I think they are only booking up to parties of 6 right now. If you do two parties of 4, you will need to assign someone else in your party as the "lead" on the second ADR. Or, use another MDE account to make the second one.

They would book our group of 7, but ADRs were definitely sparse for a group our size.

Where at in Texas? We drive probably every other trip from Fort Worth. We are flying there for spring break and haven’t decided if we will fly or drive for our thanksgiving trip.
San Antonio. I have the drive down to a science now. We stop every 2-3 hrs and spend the night in Pensacola on the way there and Baton Rouge on the way back.

Hi... question for the group, my ADR window just opened up, I’m trying to decide on which to book. We are not foodie type people and can eat and enjoy just about anything. Can I have recommendations in restaurants that will be fun to take my 6 year old son? TIA!

My boys are 8 and 9 and were 6 and 7 our last trip, so I'll tell you what my boys liked/didn't like:
* They loved 50s Prime Time and it was another request for this trip.
* They didn't love Sci-Fi and I thought they would. It wasn't a repeater for them, but I do think everyone should do it once. If you only have one day at HS, I'd pick 50s.
* They loved eating in the West Wing at Be Our Guest. We did it back when it was a QS, it is now a TS and I didn't love the food last time, but it was the only place he requested to do again so.....we are doing it again. Google photos of the West Wing Room to get an idea of the vibe.
* There weren't any QS places that were memorable for them last year and some of the other memorable TS are not open this year.
* A couple of the places we booked this year that they are excited about: Coral Reef, Via Napoli, Biergarten, and Beaches and Cream

Good luck!

I gotta ask; has anyone felt hypocritical in regards to their trips? I have been one of those people who chastised non mask wearers as well as people not limiting social gatherings this entire time. I even skipped out on Thanksgiving (albeit I did not Christmas). I have assumed the risks and keeping reading report after report of Disney doing a decent job. Which has given me a huge peace of mind that the trip will be enjoyable. BUT I have tell the people around me, many that I talked with about being super careful. Many that I will NOT tell of course but some I have no choice but to. So I figured what better place to ask as we here are all going and our trips are quickly approaching.

How's everyone feeling right now?

I didn't and don't fee hypocritical at all. We are required to mask up here in LA. I wear my mask at work whenever I am NOT in my office. I will put it on if someone come into my office. At WDW, I followed their rules and also some personal ones that I always did anyway-wiping down tables, using hand sanitizer etc. We were there in September, October, November, and December-even went to Universal in December. I think I had already gotten Covid in July but who knows?

I have had the first dose of the Moderna vaccine and due for 2nd dose 2.11.2021 I will take precautions as usual by wiping down surfaces, using extra sanitizer, and maintaining social distancing if possible.

I always have questions about transportation. I watch a few vloggers on YouTube & I did see one where they were at MK then wanted to eat at Geyser Point, so took the friendship boat. They asked the boat captain how long the boats would be running so they could get back to their car & was told boat service stopped at 9pm. But when they finished dinner at 8pm, no more boats. No other transportation back to MK since the park closed at 6pm so they had to pay to uber back to the parking lot. They were not the only ones stuck at WL after having dinner either. That's an extra expense that most people won't know to plan for.

Another food blog recommended booking ADRs at park close, so you can exit after the park is clear, but what about transportation back to my resort? Does Disney still keep buses running as long as there are guests in the park eating dinner? Or if I dine at Sanaa for dinner, would I have to find my own transportation back to Boardwalk if we finish eating at 8pm? The only Disney buses would be from AKL to DS since all the parks would be closed by 7pm or earlier, right?
