There are a lot of things that get cut from projects as they're built. Sometimes it's due to money, sometimes it's due to practicality
with the bobs it’s usually money

Pet peeve of mineExcept that it was never billed as Star Wars Land. It’s Galaxy’s Edge or Battuu.
This is the real world. Money comes into play. Just because a project is being done at WDW doesn't mean it is exempt from real world constraints. WDW isn't an actual "fantasy land". And many times the Imagnineers design the attraction and theme, but then when it is being implemented the practicality and theming changes. Then they roll with it and make adjustments. That's life. And from what I have heard, the new projects such as Galaxy's Edge are getting rave reviews. Despite not having the "roaming droids" and other things you mentioned. And from what I understood about the roaming droids, they were going to be very complex. How do we know there wasn't technical issues that caused their absence? Again, this is the real world. There is no magic wand to wave over things to make them work.with the bobs it’s usually money

It’s a bit off topic for this thread but you keep saying there’s no street performers in GE and that it looks bombed out. There were characters walking around and interacting with guests prior to the shutdown. There isn’t now because there can’t be. I was there quite a bit from the time it opened and was regularly accosted by stormtroopers or having interactions with Rey. But you’ve never been there so you wouldn’t know that.Of course money comes into play only a fool would think otherwise, That said why build an attraction which is built around streetmosphere and then strip the streetmosphere from the attraction leading to an attraction which looks like a bombed out village in any war zone you care to mention. The cuts were made to maximize the operating profit at the expense of the customer experience.
Yet in Tokyo one of the most expensive cites in the world, A Disney park can be constructed and operated profitably with a lower admission cost than any US based park. As for the locations one is built in the midst of a malarial swamp, The other is in the 'hood. But Oriental Land Company is not in thrall to Wall St analysts.
Thank you for confirming that. I heard the same thing, but I haven't seen for myself. It’s a bit off topic for this thread but you keep saying there’s no street performers in GE and that it looks bombed out. No truer words have ever been spoken! Until people protest with their pocketbooks, Disney has no need to ever stop ripping us new ones. I am now after 30 years of visiting the parks, an AP holder for Universal with Disney as the occasional side visit every couple of trips.Nothing's gonna change, people will still go, attendance will still be high, Disney stock value will climb.
It sucks, and it's going to keep me from going as much especially for a spur-of-the-moment trip but I'm not the whale Disney wants on property anyway.
a $10 Uber trip priced you out? lolWell this will price me out as I often travel solo due to being the only Disney fan among my family/friends, but I can't afford to pay for airport transportation/rent a car for one. So I guess if I don't get there in the next year I won't be going. Just so stupid.
They are making it less and less appealing to make the effort to go to Disney or stay on property. Also did they turn off comments on the article. I can't see a way to comment and there are only 2 comments so far.
Oh, it's more like $30a $10 Uber trip priced you out? lol
oops. my badOh, it's more like $30

And for families who need space for everyone and their luggage, it’s more like $65 each way. Not to mention the inconvenience and waiting around for an UberXL to be available. And if you need car seats, forget it.Oh, it's more like $30
The car seats is the big one, at least it was for us. Our kids are older now, but at the time it sure was nice to not worry about car seats. And for families who need space for everyone and their luggage, it’s more like $65 each way. Same here. Just not having the hassle of putting them in and out of a car seat to travel anywhere made it seem like a vacation. It honestly was one of the factors that made us catch the “Disney bug”- a family vacation that wasn’t more work than being at home! Trying to coordinate rides that would fit 2 car seats, us, and all our luggage would have been such a hassle, maybe we wouldn’t have been “bit.”The car seats is the big one, at least it was for us. Absolutely! We had a 3 year old and a 5 year old on our first family trip and it was the little touches like DME that made it such a vacation instead of a chore. Everywhere else we traveled we had to bring the big bulky car seats along and it was such a pain!Same here.
