"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

We attended last night. All of the meets in Storybook Circus were VERY busy during the first parade. We waited 50 minutes at that time for Daisy and Minnie.

They were all pretty empty at the end of the night, but that probably doesn’t help you since I imagine you’ll be at Tony’s at that time. We waited 10 minutes for the Dwarves and 2 minutes for Goofy right before closing.

Well darn, I may just have to bite the bullet and line up first thing.

I am really torn about the Tony’s merriest party. I have it booked but I am second guessing my decision now. I am sure it’s gonna be more popular as December 16th grows closer which means it will be more crowded and the viewing spot may not be as good as these earlier parties. I just don’t know.

I'd hold onto it and see how people are thinking the view is closer to your date. I'm going on the 29th - it's still a ways away from your party, but I have no intention of cancelling so I'll post my review after I attend.

I'll just be happy to be able to walk up and not be in a five deep crowd. :)

I didn't see this posted but we stopped by on Nov 9th. I can confirm the 300 LE 4 pin snowman set was sold out. No surprise. But the passholder tee that goes up to a 3xl they only has 3 sizes left. I am hoping they will get more in...i was too stunned by that news to ask. They had 2xl, med, small left.

I'm thinking the same thing and we are booked for the 9th. We don't go to WDW too often and wanted to make it the best experience possible for my kids(This is our second trip). We tried to see the parade on our very first trip and we couldn't see anything so we left and did other things.

Oh no, do they still have the pass holder pin? It’s not even thanksgiving they shouldn’t be selling out of Xmas party stuff already :guilty:

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it in a search. What time does the snow start on Main Street? We haven't decided whether or not we will attend this year, but we have dining reservations at 5:50 in the park. It would be neat to see it as we leave, (unless we decide to attend this year.)

We attended tonight’s (11/15) Tony party and had not the best experience. Arrived around 9:40 and there was literally only one table available (inside, literally only one, outside there may have been a few but it was crowded too and it was a chilly night.) Overheard cast members talking about how surprised they were with the crowd. Many many people wearing “media” and “cast” (I think they said cast, it was something to that affect) lanyards. Spoke with one of the media people and he estimated there were 100-150 media people that attended. They were not all at the party because their event started at 12ish, but he said they each could bring a plus-one if they assisted in their job. The entire area in front of the tree was taken up by media. One guy even had a wagon with his gear in the space (and they didn’t even have wrist bands, but some woman said they were with her and were let in.). A lot of tripods as well. We staked our space on the curb facing towards the hat store. We really enjoyed the parade and having a stress free viewing of it, but the media people took so much away from our experience overall. Does anyone have a suggestion of who to contact regarding our frustrations? Paying $100 dollars and sharing such a small space with non-paying bloggers was super annoying.

This sounds like a major misstep in allowing too many media folks into one event. I'd be surprised if it happens again. I would have complained, honestly, and I rarely ever take the time to.

Asking again since it didn't get answered the first time...

We're going to MVMCP on 12/6 (party of 3 adults) and I have two quick questions:

1. We have a 3:35 ohana ADR. What time can we expect to be tapping into MK? 5:00? 5:30?

2. What time do they close the Enchanted Tiki Room to switch over to the Moana m&g? I love the Tiki Room and want to see if there's a chance it'll still be running when we get there. (Edited to clarify: MVMCP is the only time this trip we'll be in MK.)

I’d plan for at least 90 minutes at dinner and a minimum 30 minutes to get to MK via boat or monorail. You should be there by 5:30, but since that’s when Moana starts meeting, you won’t be able to experience the Tiki Room. I’m not sure what time the changeover starts but would guess by 5?

Ahh, this is what I was afraid of. But we'd rather try ohana for the first time than watch the Tiki Room for the 12987234th time :rotfl2: so we'll leave our plans as they are.

Thanks for responding!

I'm famous (infamous) for bringing plastic containers :D
Catching up on the thread - this was exactly what I was thinking. My first party, but I figured I'd have something not easily crushed to stash a cookie so I didn't feel like I have to eat it right away. Glad to know I'm not the only one!!

This was our experience as well. We never did get to ride SM, it was down a good portion of the night and that is our favorite ride. I am glad we did the party but I wouldn't do it again. Ride times weren't horrible but they def were not walk on either. Character lines were long, especially the storybook princesses section. Jingle Cruise was fun, our guide was really funny. The fireworks were gorgeous! We saw all the media in front of the tree and couldn't figure out what the deal was. I was glad I went with not spending the $$$ for Tony's after all. We had a space across the street from the Tony's space, 2nd row, we were standing behind a lovely couple who sat at the line with their two children. This was the second parade, we got our space about 20 minutes before the start. One weird thing, DH really likes the Turkey Legs and we couldn't find one anywhere. However we finally ended up in Tall Tree Tavern (they had a special menu for the party) and I just asked if they knew where we could get a turkey leg. They said right here. And sure enough they had them, it was just not on the party menu.
