*** Official November 2018 Thread - It's Turkey Lurkey Time! ***

Has anyone booked the new Rhino tour at AK? Calling tomorrow to try to get the 21st or 22nd but I hear "late" Nov. is pretty booked up, so fingers crossed!

Our party of 14 was just able to get FOP for our first day! I’ve still never tried it (too nervous I’d get dizzy!), but they convinced me to switch our Navi River! Wish me luck! LOL
If I can do it, (in my 60's with back problems and motion sickness), you can do it! I took Bonine, wore wrist bands and ear patches that I found on amazon when I searched for motion sickness aids. I also made sure I didn't ride it after a big meal, but I did have a light breakfast a few hours before. There is a great thread here all about riding FoP. If you do a search, I think you will find it. I don't follow it anymore, sorry. Just keep breathing and whoop and holler, like on a roller coaster! Enjoy it. It is really amazing.

I was able to get a Tusker House breakfast ADR! It seems things are opening up a little as we get closer, which is nice! Still looking for SDD like crazy! I got my magic bands but no luggage tags. Hopefully I’ll get those this week.

I have recently started to feel a little dizzy on 3D rides at universal and star tours-type rides but I loved FOP! I think I was just so in awe and focused on the ride I didn’t have time to think about the 3D aspect or getting dizzy.

We went this past April to US and I had a little trouble on some of the rides too. I think it was just that there was so many, it took its toll throughout the day. If I just shut my eyes for a while I was fine. I didn’t stop going on rides or say anything to the family as I didn’t want to effect their experience and I was better after a little walking and some open air rides.

I think that might have been a big part of the problem. I haven’t been to US Orlando but the Hollywood Park is mostly 3D so by the 3rd or 4th one I couldn’t do it.

Did you get it? I was debating trying to call
I tried for the 20, 21 and 22, no availability :( Going to check the 25th but just called & wait is a bit long & I need to book stuff for clients so will call again later. I knew Nov/Dec booked up fast but was hoping anyway! You may have luck if you're going a bit earlier in the month.

I got one for 11/24 but I called as soon as it opened for reservations. My first choice was 11/22 but it was already sold out. Good luck!

I wouldn't change my plans now just to use EMH. Typically those parks are busy later in the day if you plan on staying past mid morning. We don't plan on using any early morning EMH during our trip. If you don't need to RD Pandora or TSL then it isn't worth being there for EMH. You can always RD on a non EMH day anyway. Just my opinion.
Same here - I would not change my plans so close. We're first time visitors staying onsite but I had read the parks with EMH are always the busiest, so we purposely avoided them. I use Kenny the Pirate's calendar vs. TP, and he says to avoid EMH days, so hopefully he's right!

I called the day it was released and checked 2 dates, and they were both sold out :(

If you are travelling Thanksgiving Week, how are you packing? I am assuming the weather can be all over the place, but curious if I should bother bringing clothes for warm weather or just assume it will be more like jeans/t shirts and layers.

Packing a little bit of everything. This will be our 3rd thanksgiving week trip in a row. You can be cold one day and sweating the next!

Definitely! Last year the weather was beautiful! I typically bring a little of everything... jeans, shorts, tees, sweatshirts/long sleeves. Early morning and night is when you’ll most likely need the sweatshirt or long sleeves. Typically we’ll get maybe 2 or 3 swim days in (but I won’t swim unless it’s at least 80 out, so can’t go by me!) lol

I've been twice during the week after Thanksgiving, and the weather is definitely all over the place. One day we were melting in t-shirts and shorts, two days later we were freezing and wearing jeans, hats, and mittens.
I plan on bringing 1 pair of jeans, a heavy sweatshirt and a lighter long sleeve hoodie that I can use to layer if the mornings/evenings are cold. The rest of the time I'll wear t-shirts and shorts or capris. It's so easy to overpack during this time of year!
