Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

So I’ve been dieting for a few months and lost a decent amount of weight before our recent trip. (Yay!) I finally just had the nerve to weigh myself for the first time since returning home. Despite all the walking and sweating in the July humidity, I gained 8 pounds. I have one of those “smart” scales and a message popped up on the app asking if I was the same person. Unlimited carbs and alcohol. #clublevelproblems

Editing to add a couple pounds already came off, so it’s likely just water weight :)

Might help to consider that maybe all the walking = extra muscle.

Also well, travel does odd things to the digestive track, especially if you are rushing around or out of your normal routine. Maybe consider fiber pills. OH, and probiotic foods. (At WDW CL? =yogurt, hard cheese) Oddly, WDW gift shops sell Immodium but not anything to aid the opposite kind of digestive problem. We find that oddly amusing.

You're correct: CL= excess carbs and alcohol. Plus all those all-you-can eat buffets. We've long wished for WDW to have more healthy options. We don't eat garbage at home, and don't want to eat garbage on vacation. Maybe we're strange.

One upside of CL is the veggies/fruit they offer. Too many WDW restaurants don't serve enough produce IMO, and if they do, it is often only salad. Ugh! Menus are slightly better than they once were, but one can only eat salad and CL lounge raw broccoli so many times before they start to get old.
We LOVE that the US CL's often have asparagus! Oh, and the new quick serve food court at US's Aventura looks very promising!

Congrats on the Poly CL reservation! We are checking into Poly CL later next week and I will try to post a lot of pictures when we get home! On that note, if anyone wants pics of anything specific, please let me know and I will do my best. We have stayed Poly CL before and the overall atmosphere can't be beat :)

Also, I love what your kids did for you when you had to cancel your last trip...so sweet!!
Thank you so much! Have a great trip! I’ll look forward to seeing your pictures! Seeing pictures here is one of the main things that won us over to trying CL in the first place.:)

Thanks for your review and all of the great pics. We stayed WL CL years ago and loved it, it's such a great resort/CL. Glad you had a great time :goodvibes.

Welcome to the CL thread :welcome:

Congrats on snagging a discount for Poly CL! The Poly is an amazing resort, you're going to love it! Happy planning :wizard:.

I agree! It pays to be diligent as you never know if/when something might become available :).

Have a great time! :jumping1:
Thanks, @MickeyNut, you are always so kind & encouraging with your
comments.:) (I wasn’t sure how to just reply to what you said to me. My apologies!)

I wouldn't consider CL food garbage, or even the buffets. There are always vegetable choices on the buffets besides salad. At CL, there is fruit out every morning, and vegetables out every evening. I think it's easy enough to eat healthy at Disney as long as you factor in portion size. We usually do only one buffet a trip. It might be more difficult to get vegetables at CS locations. But they sell cut up fruit at kiosks in the park. They sell bananas, apples, and such at breakfast places etc, so there are places to get healthy snacks if you seek them out.

I let loose for the few days I was at Disney CL after being low carb for months, so I expected it. Back to normal at home and that sudden weight I gained has now dropped off completely, so all good. I thought there was a decent variety to choose from, moreso at GF, but a couple days of consuming bread and sugar and drinking things other than water personally really affects my body. For others, maybe not so much!

Hi everyone! As of today, I feel like I can “officially” post on this thread.:-) I’ve been trying to snag a “Magical Holidays” room offer for Poly Garden View CL this November for quite a while now & today, when I checked, it was “magically” there!

After checking every day to no avail, I was so excited to see it pop up that I could hardly stand it!:yay:

We’ve been going to WDW each year in either Nov. or Dec. since my DD was one. This year we will be there for her 16th birthday, which was why I wanted this reservation so badly. We’ll be staying at the AKL that week, but adding this day as a surprise addition means that now she won’t be traveling to Disney on her birthday; she’ll be waking up in Poly CL! Yippee! None of us have ever stayed at the Poly, so that simple fact is exciting by itself! (Side note: I’ve always wanted to stay there. One year our annual WDW trip was cancelled. I thought my children would be crushed, but my sweet kiddos, who were about 10 & 7 at the time, decided to cheer me up about the cancellation; they surprised me by turning my bedroom at home into what they thought a Polynesian room would look like(bc they knew it was a resort I’d always hoped to try) complete with leis, a mickey towel animal, Stitch stuffies, & even a surfboard room number taped to the door. It was such a sweet, thoughtful surprise & one of my favorite “Disney” memories. But now it’s my turn to do the surprising!!)

This will be our second time staying CL. Last November we stayed at AKL CL for one night prior to our Free Dining week. I booked one night to “try out” CL since we usually have the Dining Plan, but since we were staying at the AKL on our next ressie, too, it felt like we had 2 days! It was amazing. We were greeted by name by a CM at the door with an iPad who escorted us upstairs to check in. I checked us in while DH & the kids were invited to partake of the breakfast offerings. As I was completing check-in, DH leans in from behind & whispers, “This was a mistake.” My immediate thought was, “Oh no! What in the world has gone wrong so quickly?” But instead, I said, “Why?!” His response said it all: “”Because now I’m not ever going to want to stay anywhere else but Club Level.” And we hadn’t even made it past check-in yet! My internal response that time was, “Yessss!”

Realistically, CL will most likely be a treat for our family here & there, not an every trip occurance. DH really likes having the Dining Plan so that is the route we usually take. However, I have read this entire thread over the past year & I would love to get the opportunity to eventually try out each resort’s CL to find the one we love the best. I appreciate all of the helpful and kind contributions each of you make to this thread and the way you all consistently update it. You are truly the Club Level Experts!! I look forward to spending some time here learning even more about Poly CL before our trip!

That is great that you got the room at the Poly. Poly to us is so relaxing. We love watching the fireworks on the beach. We too are staying at the AK CL for the first time this summer - we can't wait. We love AKL's restaurants. We eat at them on each vacation.

Your kids are so sweet. One time our kids set up the family room to look like Its a Small World as a surprise for me (my favorite ride since I was a kid). It was so cute and so much fun. I bet your Poly at home was so special. Enjoy your trip!

You're welcome! And thank you for the kind words, you're very sweet :goodvibes.

No apology needed! When I first started posting, it took me awhile to figure out how to quote....lol. Once you insert the quote, just delete the part(s) you don't want. Then type your reply like normal ;).

Same here! We find the Poly atmosphere very relaxing and you can't beat sitting on the beach watching the fireworks :cloud9:.

So, I've been lurking here for a while because a few months ago my mom and I decided to upgrade our upcoming fall stay from Pop Century to AKL CL! We are surprising my sisters, who will be staying at a Disney resort for the first time. I decided to wait to post until we knew which dates we were going (we were waiting on my sister's actuarial exam results) but she passed and we will be going Sept 18-24! I cannot wait, as AKL is my favorite resort. This will be my first CL stay and we are there for my 30th birthday & my youngest sisters 21st.

I have absolutely loved reading this thread and everyone's trip reports. It is making me SO excited!

Thank you so much. I hope you love AKL CL as much as we did! And your kids sound pretty sweet, too!

To all of you fabulous CL experts, I’m sure I asked this in the past year or so, but can’t find the post!
***Would you choose a WL Deluxe CL Room or a standard view GF RPC room for a spring stay?***
We stayed at, and loved, RPC. I’m also attracted to WL, though we haven’t stayed there (yet!).
CL and the dining plan was way too much food on our last trip, so while I still plan on eating in the parks on our next trip, I will be skipping the dining plan and utilizing the CL food more. Therefore, the amount and variety of CL food offerings is an important factor in the decision.
TIA, can’t wait to hear all of you weigh in!

Congrats to your sister on the passing of her exams! Sounds like a great trip of celebrations you have planned. Hope you have a great time and enjoy AKL CL :wizard:.

Thanks, @MickeyNut! Here’s hoping when I hit “reply” that I did this right!(Sorry off-topic for everyone else!)

You're welcome! Perfect quote! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I think both resorts/CLs are great but since you've already stayed RPC, I think I'd give WL CL a try. Both resorts have beautiful grounds, nice pools, and great dining options. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter which one you choose :).

Wow that is tough for me. I hope someone else will answer that has been to the WL recently but when we stayed there before the renovations we enjoyed the food. We also loved the Deluxe room plus the view was wonderful. I would sit on the porch and watch the Geyser erupt and could watch the water pageant. Just beautiful. Before renovations the deluxe rooms were a little walk away (and all were on a different floor) from the club level lounge. Whenever we stay CL - we eat breakfast at the lounge and another meal of snacks - we always have one TS meal a day and that is enough for us at Disney.

You won't do wrong at either and have fun making the decision.
