Charging for Internet Now?

After so many trips I admittedly do not do much research before coming, so perhaps I missed this new development. Are they charging for internet access? I am being charged $1.00 a night according to my room charges on MDE. Just wondering as I am sitting here on the basketball court at GF watching my DS play.

I would stop by the front desk and ask what the charge is for, there has not been any charge for internet prior to this, and as posted no announcement of one. Please post and let us know what it's all about. Thanks

Does the description of the charge actually say its an internet fee? It may be that its a quick check on the validity of your card, not an actual charge.

With Disney having us use the internet for MDE, I doubt that they will charge for internet access. I can see them charging for faster internet if you want to pay for it, slow for free, fast for a fee.

Sounds like a ghost charge to make sure the credit card is valid. It should be refunded if it is.

Usually the ghost charge is listed as pending and just drops off. If this is the case, just give it a couple of days. If it actually posts, then go to the front desk.

I should have clarified. I meant like using your card for laundry detergent. When we stayed at BWV in October I had a few small charges for detergent. I think it was $1.00 but could have been more.

It was not pending, there are actual charges. Disney can't explain why this happened, but it is an error. There is no charge for internet. I think the problem could be on the Amex end. Hilton ended their relationship with Visa and I was given a Hilton Amex for replacement and I have had a few issues in this transition, though that still doesn't explain why it is posting as a MDE room charge. Thank you for your responses!!

My faith in Disney is restored. When this thread started, my reaction was how could this possibly be -- Disney would never charge ONLY a dollar for anything.
