Just book a WC accessible room at POR and I swear that this is what the website says. 1 king and one queen bed. "Sleeps up to 5 adults"

I have never seen this before.

My guess is it has the extra Murphy bed. Not really adult sized, but a quick scan looks they list those rooms as “sleeps 5 adults” even when the description clearly mentions “child-sized pull down.”

Enjoy your vacation!

My question really isn’t about the 5 adults, it’s about the King +queen. I didn’t know that was a thing

I know they bumped out the entrance alcove for some HA rooms, presumably to add enough space for 2 beds in wheelchair accessible rooms. I haven’t read any direct reports about the rooms themselves, though.

Enjoy your vacation!

I was able to get some more info when I went on Touring Plans room finder. Apparently from what I can see, it is one room that has this configuration. Room 1501 in Alligator Bayou. It is a first floor corner room.

Hi, I know this was 4 years ago..... but what was the room? I have the same room booked and I'm not sure what to expect.

I wasn’t aware they still have this room-type as an option. I thought they had replaced them all with rooms with 2 queens. Let us know what you get.

This is what I booked. I just wish I had a clear idea of what the bathroom situation was....
Preferred Room. Wheelchair accessible with roll-in shower and option for hearing accessibility. 1 king bed, 1 queen bed.

We were just there at Thanksgiving (split stay between POR and Poly) and the only option with a roll-in shower room was 2 queens. All roll-in shower rooms at POR (and POFQ) are 1st floor.

If you want more info (and detailed, up-to-date building maps that show exactly where the roll-in-shower rooms are) go to PortOrleans.Org

The gentleman who runs that website, Andre, also is the Moderator for the POR/POFQ area here on the DISboards. In either location, he is a fountain of knowledge about those Resorts!

Great.
Thank you!
I'm on it. haha

I stayed in a room with that description in January of 2020 at Port Orleans Riverside. That was after the renovation of the resort was completed.

I would appreciate more information on the bathroom situation. The photos on the website show two different bathrooms. I'm traveling with my 23 year old son who uses a power chair and bathroom set up is extremely important.

That is because there are two bathrooms. One bathroom will have a sliding door with the toilet, single sink and shower all in one room. This bathroom was large enough to easy turn around in my power chair. The shower was a roll-in shower with a pull down seat and a handheld shower head that is adjustable. There were grab bars by the toilet and the sink has the open design to allow a wheelchair to pull up to it. The other bathroom was a standard one where the bathroom has two areas, one with the double sink counter and the other with the toilet and bathtub/ shower combo. It did not have any grab bars.
