February at the Fort

We will be arriving on Saturday. I am so excited as it is our first trip to the Fort. I told my DH this weekend that I really want this trip to be more about being at The Fort than doing the parks. I want to enjoy all the Fort has to offer and just relax a bit. I am happy with how the weather looks since we will be in a tent.

You will love the Fort! so much to do or see!! Hope you will have a Golf Cart so U can go looping. Safe travels, we would love to see pictures of your adventure, only if you have time.

Melissa, thank you for asking. We left Thursday later than normal ( think farm!) and drove for about 7 hours. We overnighted at a Holiday Inn Express in Mt.Vernon, il. On the road by 8:00,and were sailing right along, until our dreaded blow-out on the passenger side of fifth wheel. Jody and Tim were behind us and with flashers, we stopped, and began to get the hydraulic jack and impact wrench. And then, our Angel appeared in the form of an older farmer, along the fence line between 65 S and his farm. Talked, asked for cell number, and the three men discussed the size, ply, and he called a tire shop about ten minutes Away. They had the tire and could change it. We put the spare back on, and exited at Exit 1 in the tennessee alabama border, and the tire shop was ready. Cornelius, you were our savior, and we will gladly pay it forward. Thank you Cornelius. Our plans are to stop about 8; somewhere along highway 10, hopefully, no more of those blowouts

Ed, he truly was a delight, and shows how goodness and kindness is appreciated. He was from Alabama, and we loved his dialect. I am sure he thinks ours is also unique. He even called to make sure we were at the tire repair shop, and later we called him to thank him again. Life is good. Btw, we also just are learning not to go through Montgomery during Friday afternoons at 4:00.

bjschil, Glad things went well for you. Had a similar issue with a wheel bearing in our car trailer.
Guy at the Autozone we went to at next exit in Tennessee said "you're not leaving this store til I find you what you need".
Needless to say, the next day I sent a lengthy email to Autozone corporate. It's a great feeling to know that there are others besides us who still care and are willing to help!
We pay it forward every chance we get :thumbsup2 It's a wonderful feeling. Tomorrow is check in for you. Can't wait:cool1:

Barb,

So glad to hear your temporary break down went well...as well as it possibly could! Good job, Cornelius! As long as you and the kids all arrive safe and sound that is all that matters. Best wishes on the remaining miles.

Can someone check on the cost of charcoal and matches at the Meadows for me? Staying in a cabin first week in may and would like to use the grill. Thank you!!

Thanks Jimmy,

We are at our stop in DC. I just check and no room number yet. I guess they are still setting up the castle for us.

I had sent MissDisney21 over here from the resort forum. If any of you happen by the Meadows and see the price on the charcoal, or if any of you recall it.

If not MissDisney21, I'll be there 2ND week of March and I'll check on it then if needed.

We arrived, 4 new tires — later. We discovered that our hydraulic line was severed at the connection. Well, we kinda knew that after the blowout on late Friday. Bill and SNL Tim, were able to hold the connection in enough to get our landing jacks down, and living room slides out. Traveling clothes might now become chore clothes. A bit oily.

We are in Site 1423, and Jody and Tim are two sites away. We are suspecting the site between us is reserved today for our niece and nephew with their rented TT. We are close to the theatre, for the GC to ride bikes to swim. It is very crowded, the weather is beautiful, the neighbors very kind in offering assistance with our issue. Last night we had TE dinner at 6:40, and was delicious. Did a bit of looping, watched the EWP, then called it a night.

We hope to see all who can make it later this afternoon for an DIS meet and greet. Teambur, hope your flight was great. LOVING this weather.

Glad you made it in Barb. I was getting worried.

We will be over in a couple of hours. I'll text you from the boat.
