I am booked in Kidani village 2 bedroom for spring break. I want to put a request in but this is my first stay and no idea where to ask to be and do I have to call to put in request?

Just want to not have to walk miles to get to bus, civilization etc.

Any suggestions on where to request is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much, KIM

If you don't want to walk too far, you could request 'Near Transportation' or 'Near Lobby'.

If you are 60 days or less from check-in, you can see what location requests are available during online check-in.
If you booked the room using your points, you can contact MS by phone, chat or email (using contact us on member website) to have the request added.
If you rented from another member, that member would need to contact MS on your behalf.

You do not mention which view you have, standard or savanna. Any request related to either should be made through MS and not done online during check-in, for which requests are limited and some are ridiculous -- e.g., one request you can make when doing online check-in is for near an elevator but there are three elevators along each of the two wings, and that near elevator request can be met by putting you in any room in the building, so it accomplishes nothing. You should avoid asking for near the lobby, which is one of the requests that can be made with online check-in. If you can get near the lobby, you would be fine, but what has happened is that everyone in the world is now requesting near the lobby with the result that many do not get that request, and the failure to be able to give you your location request does not result in their trying to find something close to it, but instead results in their putting you in any open room location, which often means your near lobby request results in your being in the end rooms of either wing, as far from the lobby as you can possibly get.

Two good requests you can make with savanna view are near the Rafiki elevator (on the north wing) or near the Timon elevator (on the south wing), but both those requests need to be made through MS. The former would give you the shortest walk from the building, via down the Rafiki elevator to ground (parking lot) floor, to a gate for entry to the pool area, and put you within striking distance of the lobby and bus stop; the latter would put you close to the door on the second floor that is closest to the bus stop. Both those requests are also possible with standard view but are not necessarily the best standard views, e.g., near the Timon elevator leaves you staring at the back wall of the bus stop area. There are certain standard view rooms that are along the Pembe savanna that were converted from savanna view rooms. If you want a savanna view in a standard view room, you should request near the Pumba elevator (which is the last elevator on the north wing); however for that you need to be willing to do very long walks to the lobby and bus stop.

thank you! We are standard... just looking for best view, shortest walking if possible..... Thanks sooo much!

And good luck getting it. I know that requests are just requests and not guaranteed, but when DH checked in, he checked the request and the CM told him "Oh, yes-we got you close to the lobby. Well, I guess the CMs definition of close isn't the same as ours, because we were in the fourth "pod". The time before when we requested "close to the lobby" we were in the last pod, about 3-4 rooms from the end.

Oh Wow! that sounds far for sure... I know it is not guaranteed.. but going to ask anyway! thanks so much, KIM

The hallways at Kidani are crazy long, however, keep in mind that if you have a car, you can park under the building and closer to your room than the lobby. We were in a 2 b savanna view room a few rooms from the end. We used the car to go to the parks so we didn't have such a long walk to the room at the end of the night. However, we used our refillable mugs only once for coffee on that trip. It was just not worth it to do that walk when you have a coffee maker in the room. I was closing on the sale of my home at the time, and had to keep going to the lobby for faxes from my realtor. After a few trips, my brother started driving me to the lobby.

wow! well, we will have a car, but was hoping to use buses.. but at least we will have both options... depending on which park we are visiting, car may be best... then if anyone wants leave early, they can bus it. we get free parking at the parks, right? thanks!

Yes, if you are staying on property, you get free parking in parks.

You could request "near bus stop" so that (if your request is fulfilled) you'd be close to the bus stop and to your car. The under-building parking garage is one of my favorite features of Kidani.

I would stick with close to lobby.

I was in 2nd to last room at kidani and looking at lobby across savanah from my balcony. I just wanted to zip line across in 3 seconds LOL

Yeah, how about that? I wondered why they couldn't build a bridge over to the lobby.
