We will be at the fort for our annual November trip 11/05 thru 11/24. Already booked 2018 10/28 thru 11/16. We also have the Fort addiction and have had it since our first trip in 1982 and there is no cure for us only more Fort trips. Safe happy trips to all.
Almost three weeks! That's doing it right!

Cosmic,

Thanks for pulling that list together.

I'm gonna get on my soapbox for a moment and say "go meet somebody (a fellow DISser)".

Shake a hand, say their name, look them in the eye. Some folks are park commandos (every day rope drop till close) but most campers aren't.

Don't wait for them to come to you. I don't.

I'll be saying hello to as many people as I can on the October and November trip thread.

Tick tock. Is it Friday Oct 27th yet? :bored:

I agree with this 100%. I haven't met a Diser that I didn't like. Some of them goofy, yes, but that's pretty cool in my book. My girls have also found the Disers' kids to be quite enjoyable as well. So DO get out there and meet and shake hands. It's led to some pretty good friendships since I started.

Yes! Go meet! Even for just a couple minutes ;) Don't wait for them to come to you, go to them! Meeting those that you have conversed with here before just puts the icing on the Disney cake! It really adds to the trip ;) We always look forward to chatting with those down there at the same time.

Oh man, I kind of wanted to meet you but I think we are missing you by a couple of weeks! We are also a homeschooling minifarming family :D Your trip reports are why we are staying at the fort longer! Maybe next time :)

We will be there from Dec 3 - Dec 18 this trip. We have Heifer and Angus cattle. Is that Jersey Swiss in your profile pic? Those are so pretty. Love seeing them at the State Fair.

We're tent camping homeschoolers, too! No farm, though. We... uh... have a cat? It'll be me, DW, DS10, DD8, and DD4. We might be neighbors!

Thanks Cosmic for compiling the list. We have requested the 400 loop. BamaEd makes a great point, get out and meet your fellow FW Disers - they share your addiction and will understand. We are now doing the single digit dance and I only have three more shifts before we leave.
Great to see people from many different walks. DH was raised on a dairy farm( Ayrshires); we presently own and operate a wild blueberry/honeybee pollination farm. This year we have expanded to include u-picks ( high bush blueberry, raspberry and pumpkin), a sunflower maze, and a Farmstand with bakery which sells home baked products grown on our farm. I almost forgot we also grow rhubarb for a local winery.
Please feel free to stop and say hello, we will have our FW sign out, as per our avatar.

Wow so many great people coming in November!

@KalamityJane & @Cosmic hope you both get the same loop.

@Boomer1 I want to be you when I grow up ;)

We want to have a small self sufficient berry & apples orchard. We planted six apple trees late summer and plan to add in six more next spring. Will also include cherry, peach, pear. On the backside of or house we did 7 blueberry, 7 blackberry, 7 raspberry and a whole mess of strawberry. Next spring we plan to go serious and plant enough to feed the family year round. I'm not sure if that is going to mean 20 plants of each for 50. They say the plants don't produce much the first year, but my DD wa able to pick a small handful everyday for breakfast. My to do list has "heavily research berry plants". Too bad our trips won't overlap, sure would like to meet you.

Maybe! I requested 1500 loop, who knows where we will end up :D I'll keep an eye out for you!

How amazing! We have a small orchard of around 30 fruit and nut trees, along with a huge strip of raspberries. I've tried to grow blueberries here but our soil is too alkaline and frankly I haven't put too much work into trying to get them to grow. How do you like the high bush varieties? I've heard they grow better here (we are in Idaho/high desert).

We're homeschoolers too! We only have chickens so far (and a cat, dog and saltwater fish), but hope to add a giant angora bunny next year and sheep in the future (when we don't travel so much). It looks like we'll all be there at the same time - I'd love to meet up if you guys are up for it! Even though you'd think our kids have enough siblings to play with, they love meeting new kids - especially if the pool is involved!

Totally! I'm the oldest of 9 kids :D big families are fun :) My kids are 9yo girl, 6.5yo boy, 4.5yo boy!

Haha! Too funny!

Finished my very last Disney t-shirt a few seconds ago! Every year I make a few matching shirts for each of us. Last year I made 4 per person and vowed never to do that many again. Wouldn't you know it, this year the kids all ended up with 4 again? DH and I only have 2 though. So we have gray "best day ever" shirts, navy moana themed shirts (everyone picked their own favorite character/saying), then the kids have dark gray snack goals (shirts were left over from our family reunion, so I didn't have to buy them) and then all different colored shirts with some of our favorite attractions all over them. I'll have to get pictures tomorrow if it's nice out. This is my first year using a heat press and not an iron and WOW! did it make a huge difference in speed! If anyone else is thinking about making shirts definitely spend the extra for a heat press. So much easier and quicker! And the vinyl stays on much better too! No peeling or cracking at all.

12 days until we leave, but technically today is over, so 11 days. Almost single digits! And in between we only have a surgery, 2 birthdays, halloween, a baptism and DH and my 14th anniversary. Oh, and I also have to finish my reports for homeschooling before we leave. Serenity now!
