I was told that you have to make reservations to ride the Kraken rollercoaster. Is that correct and if so where and how do I do this?

Thanks

Spotsaver.com from inside the park or go to Kraken and get a ticket with a return time.

Is this new? The ride has been walk on since they built the 2 newer roller coasters or did it change since the upgrade this year? Have not been since Spring; but it was walk on then. Are you referring to quick access which you pay $28 for to get reserved seating area in shows and sort of fast pass for rides? From what I hear the park must be pretty empty....instead of hiring for Christmas they announced a lay off of over 300 people.

They went to this method when the ride became VR, mostly due to the increased loading times.

Sometimes, usually later in the day, they will allow walk ons when fewer people reserved ride times, and they may also allow them during the day on low attendance.

We saw this on the map but had no problem on Thursday walking on. In fact it was supposed to be a 30 min wait and it was barely 10 minutes.
That ride just about did me in. I'm okay with VR glasses usually, but the way that you couldn't control what you were seeing (the vision kept swirling back to look behind me) made me feel ill for the next three hours!!

The ride switched to VR and the loading times are painfully slow, they have to clean the glasses, make sure everyone has the headwear on correctly and honestly I would have no issues if they would just switch back to the ride without the VR headsets when you could ride continuously all day long.I rode it once with VR and it was fun but the second time the loading took so long I started having a mild anxiety attack from being strapped in for so long I told the attendant to let me out before riding.

As far as how busy the park is,weekdays are obviously slower but I was at the park today and the park was jam packed with the Halloween event going on.The layoffs are company wide in the Virginia,Texas,California and Florida parks and mostly involve administrative positions in the corporate office. The company overall has about 15,000 employees.
