I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I need some help that is only tangentially travel / cc. My son is doing study abroad in Paris starting in January for 4 months (flight bought with AA miles to keep it related :) ). We live in Miami and I know that I am making ourselves look sooooo ignorant but I have no idea what clothes he needs. What do college kids wear in Paris, what coats do you need for average temps of 46/37? What shoes? He will be going to class, commuting on the Metro, doing lots of walking around. He doesn't need to look like he's attending fashion week but I want him to look polished and nice. Thanks for any help!

ETA: I have been doing research - my post sounds like I haven't but, for example, are sneakers something you wear in Jan/Feb or should I buy him some boots? Do those temps require he wear something under his jeans or are other pants better? We have the wool hiking socks from when we went to Utah so will send those. Our coldest travel has been N.Carolina/Tenn. over New Year's for a few days and we bundled up as best we could.
Mine did a year in Norway (so much colder, but I'll leave out the heavy duty stuff here). I would suggest a fleece sweatshirt (like a North Face quarter zip), a puffer, a raincoat, and waterproof shoes. If he runs cold you could consider those thermal layers that Costco sells, but he probably won't need them. I saw a lot of jeans in Paris this summer.

My AF posted on my Amex Gold Biz. I opened it last year because I was preapproved and we charged my dad's funeral. He'd be proud I hit a SUB w/ his death. I only got 80k, so it wasn't a great offer, but I was deep in pop up hell. And that seems to have unlocked it as I got the Hilton Biz and Delta Plat Biz after. I chatted and they didn't offer any kind of retention. Not surprised I haven't used it much at all. I did just take advantage of $50 off $200 at Lowes. And I did get my $20 back for October. I don't have to cancel till mid-Nov (confirmed on chat) so I'll get the $20 in Nov too. Outside of the $240 in credit and the Walmart Plus (which I don't use), is there any benefit of Amex Gold Biz I'm not thinking about? For $295, the $240 and WM+ don't really offset the card to keep it for me. I have Amex Everyday for MRs still. I'll likely downgrade my Delta Biz Plat to Gold when that AF posts, so I should still get some Amex Biz offers.
Am I missing any other perks?

For the new Surpass benefit of $50 Hilton credit per quarter, would it work to buy Hilton GC's and save them up? We have a tentative trip planned for next July and they could come in handy. Thanks!

Hmph, just requested to close a CIU in anticipation of getting another one soon, once we finish the CIP. Then realized I was 5/24, whoops. Looks like I got my Venture X on 11/9. How long after that date will Chase consider me 4/24?

Edited to add, I didn't apply yet, and the closing of the account has nothing to do with anything, just surprised I forgot about the 5/24 applying to all Chase cards.

I received the bonus on my Bonvoy Boundless card in Oct 2021. I am planning to apply for the Bonvoy Bevy, do I need to wait until November 1, or could I apply now?

With the new AU charges on the Plats, I think I need to just get my own and close my (very very old AU card). The problem is I've had a Vanilla Plat in the past (long closed) and I currently have a Gold in my name. Are there any NLL Amex Platinum paths/offers out there? If you have any info, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I guess I will just try to do a PC from one of my current Amex cards. I really want the CS Plat, but I don't think I can PC to that one.

Amex is 7 years so if long ago is at least that then you would only need to worry about the pop up and probably holding the gold.

Only thing you can PC from is gold or green.

If you don’t find the value in the new benefits I would cancel. I don’t consider the Biz Gold a keeper card.

Sadly not 7 years. I have a green that I am planning to PC to a Platinum if I can't get a new one.

That should work if you can find a Hilton hotel that sells GC. Not sure how common that is.

The LL is "may not" now, so you just have to try and see if you get the pop-up. I think highest SUB on the plat is 150k, I've seen it pop up a few times. Schwab plat might be down to 80k, but I haven't followed closely.

for anyone that went to the Andaz in costa rica any places nearby that you can recommend off-property? is that dive bar place any good?

GM all. back from my quick visit to the mouse!
Frontier cancelled our flight home, luckily I had travelbank $$, thank you amex plat and booked us home to EWR for the evening. that plus the frontier refund paid our tickets.

my dates opened on FB for Oct 24 to cdg. crazy high, 905k each biz! united only goes thru Sept. I'm checking 2-3x a day. want to do biz there, econ pus home.

crowds at epcot were insane, other parks ok

now to catch up on 20 pages!

Something new happened to me - DH was approved for a CIU yesterday - I sent them a SM asking for it to be expedited and they told me no!!

Anyway, they said I could add it to my digital wallet from the saved account manager page, but I've been looking through the app and website and can't figure out how to do this.

Does anyone know how to add it to apple pay or paypal without having the card?

Here's what they said in case you're wondering:

We are delighted to welcome you to Chase Business creditcard. We received your request to expedite your new card.

XXXXXX, your new card and welcome package, including account benefits, will be mailed within the next 10 business days.

they told me no once, and I called and they said, sure I'll send it right out. But I see it's DH, so if like mine, he probably doesn't want to call.

He does not want to call. I did send them another SM back telling them that I was having a hard time adding to apple pay so maybe they will changed their mind and send it expedited anyway?? We're leaving for a cruise on Friday, so I'd love to have it before we leave!

I've been told no before too and I wondered if it was because I asked too soon. SM'd again and was told yes. So hopefully they'll expedite it for you this time!

I have been switching browsers all morning looking for similar points, but I am not finding anything like that (701k for biz or prem econ) for the days that I'm looking at. I have looked from June 10th through June 14th, (looked at cash, biz, econ, prem econ) but am, unfortunately, only coming up with nothing less than 220k for premium economy. I can try when I get home tonight on my home laptop and see that helps. Thanks for this note!! I truly appreciate it!
Replying to myself, but writing this for anyone's information who finds it helpful:

This morning I booked three (3) non-stop Air France flights for 35k each (105,000 total), in premium economy, IAH>CDG plus $380 (which I put on my CSP) total!! I transferred 105,000 MR's to Air France and the transfer arrived within one minute. Yay for my 50th birthday trip!
