I’ve done this poll before, but it’s been a long time (probably a couple years), so let’s do it again for anyone new.

Do you make your bed every day?
If No….how often do you make it?
(multiple choice)

*I posted a video that’s an awesome video to watch. This is just a few minutes of a 19 minute speech. I highly recommend listening to the entire speech one day - it’s very very good.

For Me…...I make my bed every single day. I do not like the look of a messy unmade bed, I don’t want to come home to an unmade bed, and there’s something very satisfying with unmaking the bed at the end of the day. If I leave the house and my DH is still sleeping, he will make the bed after he gets up. The only day I do not make the bed is New Years Day, because it’s my day off from life. My DH will pull the covers up and make it neat, because that day is a relaxing day for him too.

*sidenote…I even make my hotel bed when we stay more than one night

I make the bed, or my husband makes the bed, every day - whoever gets up last. Growing up and until I got married, I never made the bed, but my husband did. Now, I can’t stand an unmade bed.

My bed has not been made more than 10 times in the 14 years I've been married to my wife. Neither of us sees the point of making a bed for no one to see all day to have to spend more time unmaking so we can actually use it. It's also very hard to make a bed with two top sheets and two blankets.

Make my bed every day even after I had spinal surgery I made my bed every day no matter what I make my bed every day
When my kids were not make their bed I told them close your door I don’t wanna see it it’s laziness and I just can’t stand the look of a messy bed something my mother drilled into my head as a kid you make your bed
I’ve seen the video before it’s really good
To each his own but for me I like the look of a nice made up bed makes the room look nice and tidy

I make the bed every day except when the cleaning lady is coming and will change the sheets. I grew up with a Mom that insisted that the bed be made every day and it has stuck with me.

I voted other. I make my bed almost every day. Occasionally I'll skip it. It looks nicer and it's more inviting to get in when the sheets and blankets are all smoothed out. Also I fold clean clothes and pile them up on the bed when I'm doing laundry, and that works much better on a flat surface rather than on top of rumpled sheets.

When I lived in a house where our bedroom was on the main floor I would make the bed every day. Now the bedroom is upstairs (out of sight, out of mind). The bed gets made when the cleaning lady comes and on sheet changing day.

When I was a kid never made my bed but as an adult I always do.

Probably because I use the whole set of sheets now, bottom sheet, top sheet , duvet And peoples in the shams. When I was a kid it was just bottom sheet and comforter.

It makes the room look better too, but really like a smoothed out bed now. My husband worked shift so I would make my bed just before I went to bed sometimes…lol

I try to do it every day. Do it 95% of the time.
A tidy house helps my mental health. It takes five. seconds.

I don’t like having the covers tucked in at the bottom of the bed when I am sleeping, so my version of make the bed just involves laying the top sheet over the bed like a bedspread. I don’t use a blanket or comforter in Florida more than a handful of nights in Jan/Feb, so that gets added and removed as needed. It’s neat, but most people would look and think it’s not made up.

I make the bed every day. My husband jokes about it. He says stuff like you know the Bed Police are not going to stop by to check. It’s just been routine since I was about 4. It’s like brushing my teeth.

I took multiple choices in the poll, trying to characterize our patterns. I personally don’t have a “make the bed” box on my daily to-do list. I make it when I change the sheets and when I’m cleaning the bedroom. DH both gets up later and goes to bed earlier than I do, so often he’s the one who makes it. Weird maybe, but it mostly gets made right before we get into it, rather than right when we get out. It seems much more comfortable to get into a bed with the sheets, pillows and blankets smoothly in place.

I never make my bed and here's why: it's my space, my comfort zone and you know what isn't comfortable to me? An area that doesn't look used. My brain starts thinking that I shouldn't be here, that I don't belong here. So I never make my bed, it always looks perfectly used; everything is arranged to fit me exactly....nothing ever feels as welcoming as walking into my room at the end of a long day at work to a bed that looks like all I did was get up and go to the bathroom.

Admittedly, I haven't been very consistent making the bed this summer. I'm sure I'll do better in the Fall/Winter season. These long days have been killing me 😂

I’ll pull up the sheets if I have company that’ll be in my room. But mostly I don’t see a reason to “make the bed.” The only real time I spend in my room is when I’m in bed.
