Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

I hope that the Tron locker setup is similar to Universal’s Velociraptor: large lockers within the actual line itself. You then access the lockers from the other side when you exit.

It just flowed much easier than any of the other locker systems at Universal, in my opinion. Also much more convenient to not have to go to a separate area (and sometimes wait in a separate line) both before and after you rode (e.g. Hulk).
What if you are using a phone rather than magicband? Would you be allowed to keep a phone in your pocket?

We won’t really know any of the answers to these questions until people start riding it and reporting back on how it works. All we know right now is that there will be lockers. Everything else is speculation at this point.
We don't know the answers right now but my guess is that all loose articles can't ride with you. If true then it will the first attraction guests won't be able to have their phone out while riding.

Yikes. I was actually looking at TWDC job postings earlier this week for funsies, and between that and the lower than market pay in many professional positions, it's a good thing they have the extremely desirable brand name to lean on in the fight for talent.

4 days is going to be deal breaking for a lot of people.

I can't be the only one that has always been creeped out by the molded faces.

Honestly, and I know a lot of employees will grouse about this, but companies aren't wrong to want their people back in the office. It really isn't onerous to actually be expected to come to work, and there are advantages to working cooperatively in-person. That said, flexibility is good too. My workplace is encouraging us to come in - but not requiring it (and I type this as I work from home because, well, Monday). 4 days may be too aggressive, but I do understand.

You can use the MDE app instead of a hard ticket or magic band, and you’d need it for any LL checkpoints along the way
Yes but wouldn't the lockers be inside the ride, after the LL checkpoint?? Any ride I've gone on that requires you to leave your stuff you leave it right before boarding, not before even entering the line.

At Universal it is very common to have to use the lockers before you even enter the line. Most rides are like that.

Which sucks if you are waiting for someone to do a ride you don't want to, esp when it's a long line. You've no idea how long it will be, was there delay etc. Watching the wait time on the app doesn't really help with this either.

Yep. Even in line you don't know what time it is. On Hagrid's, my buddy was grousing about having to put his phone in the locker, but the signs and announcements said so. Of course, there were tons of people in line with their phones, but we didn't know that. I guess on that on it's okay, but some reguire you to pass through metal detectors, so you couldn't do it on those.

That would require logic on Disney’s part 😄😄
