When I opened my app this morning, it was not yet updated, and gave me a prompt to update. It was super quick. Did you open the app? If the app doesn’t give you the update option, go to your App Store. You should be able to update from there. Good luck!
Thanks. I opened the app earlier, got the prompt, but chose the not yet option. No update option was in the app store. I'll probably just need to restart the phone to get it to prompt again.

I read reports that it wasn't prompting in app again. You either had to go the the App Store and upgrade from there, or if that isn't working, remove the app and reinstall. Hope one of those works for you!

Disney: Don’t Purchase Genie+ Based On Our Posted Wait Times

“Wait times are estimates generated using a variety of factors. Wait time estimates can vary significantly from the wait time you may experience, and are subject to frequent changes within each day due to a variety factors such as attendance, guest interest, weather, and attraction downtimes.
Because we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these wait time estimates you should not rely on them when making purchase decisions.”

Translation: Give us the money anyways, no matter the line.

Ah ok, was confused because the article made it seem like Genie+ must be bought to use rider swap

Yeah it’s just for if the first group is trying to use the lightning lane. If you’re trying to rider swap using those lanes as the first group, all members of your party (first and second group) have to have access to it, either the Genie+ side or the IA$ side.

What’s the New 120 Minute Rule in Disney World and Why Should You Care?

Just an addition, you are able to Stack multiple Lightning Lane times too. You could have a 2:05pm-3:05pm lightning lane for say Splash Mountain that you booked early on, followed by a 2:10-3:10pm lightning lane for Big Thunder Mountain utilizing the 120 minute rule.
That is a major advantage over the old FP+ system, where the soonest you could schedule those two rides together was a hour apart (had to allow the full 1-hour FP return window between them). It sure makes more sense to be able to book them close together so you can ride one and just walk directly to the other. (Of course, what we did was just get into the first queue close to the end of that window, so the 2nd one was open or nearly open by the time we finished, and I'm sure that's what most people also did.)
