August Trip- Got Everything I Wanted and Them Some

So my 60 day was today.

Left some open days in the event Flying Fish, Garden Grill Breakfast, Trattoria al Forno characters, or Ohana open up so I can plug them in and of course most of my "meals" will be at Food and Wine and Boardwalk Bakery/Margarita cart in front of the Boardwalk/Leaping Horse Libations.

I went into this thinking I would be struggling but perhaps they opened up more reservations noting increased capacity (which is both good and bad).

However..

8/6 (arrival)- Garden Grill lunch.
8/7- open (hoping for Ohana).
8/8- Sci Fi lunch
8/9- Chef Mickey breakfast (walk over to MK). Daughter's Birthday lunch with my wife at Cinderella's Royal Table.
8/10 (no park day and no Boo Ba$$$h)- TREX Lunch (kid loves the dinos), Chef Art Smith's Dinner.
8/11- Sanaa Lunch (please give us a window seat) ;), Beaches and Cream Dinner.
8/12- Sebastians Dinner
8/13- Oga's cantina beverages..then Beaches and Cream part 2 lunch. Hoping for Flying Fish final dinner.
8/14- (bye bye Mickey)- Topolino's Terrace breakfast.

Considered Tusker House on my first AK day but noting the cost and no buffet will probably stick with Satuuli (which I love).

Wishing all of you the same fortune with your reservations.

How many guests do you have? Seems easy with small parties but this year large groups are tough. We never had trouble other years sitting together till this year

You just gave me hope! I make our dining soon since we check in later in the month (22nd)

My family of four will also be there in early to mid August.... Similar to you, I am waiting/hoping for Flying Fish to reopen (for our first night's dinner). Also left one day open for 'Ohana when and if it reopens. Would probably settle for Kona Cafe just to see the updates at the Poly.

I also had very little difficulty getting the dining reservations the family wanted. Must be due to reduced social distancing at Disney restaurants...?

California Grill
Oga's Cantina
Sci Fi
Homecomin
Via Napoli
Yak and Yeti
Le Cellier
Beaches and Cream
Savi's Workshop
Jaleo
Sanaa

We're 60 days out today. We might make one maybe two ADR's as we usually eat QS. I like your selections, yum popcorn::

I figure the monorail will be open by August and worse case scenario we can always get an Uber to the TTC and walk over for Captain Cooks if Ohana still not open.

You have some good restaurants selected. We will be there from August 1st-14th and we got everything we wanted, too. I’m also hoping for ‘Ohana to open. I’d like to eat there for my birthday on August 10th.

I don’t think anyone has been reporting trouble with 9-day onsite trips. The challenge has been for shorter on-site trips ( including split stays, which have to be booked separately) and offsite guests who can only book at 60 days from each day.

This exactly. 60+8 should have no issue. But I remain hopefully this means they’re also increasing capacity two months out knowing they’ll have staff by then. This has not been the case thus far despite increased park capacity.

Really can’t believe they decided that booking for length of stay, even if you’re at WDW resorts, no longer entitles you to book all at once. We had to piece together reservations because of lack of availability which meant waking up to book ADRs on four separate days. So annoying.

Oh boy - how many days in a row can you book for on-site stays now?

My daighters birthday is on the 9th, my convenient "excuse " for taking this trip..ha. I asked her if there was any specific place she wanted to go for her birthday dinner..she said "the place with the steak near Star Wars and the Muppets". So looks like we will be adding Mama Melrose to the 9th and hop over there...actually haven't had a bad meal there.
This trip is becoming pricier by the minute..par for the course!

You can book the length of each resort reservation, not length of total stay. So like we have three nights at OKW, but one of those nights had to be added on when availability popped up so there's two confirmation numbers and they have to be booked separately for ADRs.

I was also hoping for Ohana to open for my trip next week, but no luck, so I suggest booking a backup in case it doesn't open, then changing it if Ohana opens. Because it is hard for me to find something next week now that we are so close and Ohana hasn't opened.
