***Official March 2021 Thread***

My daughter did All-Star cheer for 7 years and has opted to stop after last season being cut short. My son cheers for high school and this is his Senior year. We are really hoping to end his season in Disney :) I am just one of the lucky parents with a job that will allow for short notices. Any competitive sport is hard in a normal season, let alone one like we are dealing with. I know it is not in the control of one entity to make the decision. Varsity, UCA, Disney, states, schools, athletes and parents all have to be aligned for any team to be able to participate. One day you can be scheduled for an event and the next it be gone or up in the air, OR...a team member can be quarantined for sitting in class next to a COVID positive student the day before you leave and the whole team misses out because of it. To have to sit at home away from people for a week or two when you are not sick is very hard on athletes that put in hours and hours a day to be able to win at their sport. We are on the edge waiting for these March dates to come out so we can plan and pray that nobody gets quarantined. The unknowns are definitely getting to us cheer parent. :)

Keep us updated when you hear any thing, please.

We're currently booked at GF March 5-10!

I am back-and-forth on ADRs. It'll be me and my sister - she hasn't been since 2019, I was there in Sept. She's a lot more laid back than I am, but I really liked having mid-day park breaks to sit and eat, and there are a couple of places I wanted to try (Topolino's, Narcoosee's, Cali Grill, Kona breakfast, GF Cafe - all on the "to try" list!) To add a layer of complication she is not currently comfortable eating indoors which eliminates a ton of options, but she is also scheduled to get both doses of the vaccine before our trip so that could change.

Should I stop trying to overschedule and let her drive the meal plan, or should I make some can't-miss ADRs? What do you guys LOVE that are can't-miss?

I would definitely make them at your 60 day mark when they open, you can always cancel latter if she is insistent but it is important to at least have the option in the first place by making them.

I would go ahead and make them as well. Better to have them and then cancel, then want them later and not be able ti get them.
I am actually working on our list now because my ADR day is Wednesday. So far on our list we have Beaches and Cream for the kitchen sink, possibly Yak and Yeti and the rest were not sure about. We would have loved doing Ohana but since it's not available right now that's obviously out.

Our vacation is March 28-April 4, staying at Vacation Village at Parkway. I haven’t been to WDW since 2012. Very excited to visit with husband and toddler this time around!

Our planner got all of the ADRs we wanted at the times we wanted today. Woo Hoo!! I didn't think dining opened until 7a EST but she was able to get all of them at 6a EST. Here is what we ended up with:

Thursday - Travel day and Coral Reef at 5:15p
Friday - 6:35p Whispering Canyon
Saturday - 12:15p Yak and Yeti lunch, 4:30p Yak and Yeti dinner (will obviously just keep one of these)
Sunday - Toppolinos 8:35a, Ale and Compass 8:55a (not sure how they let me keep this too!), Via Napoli 12:15p, Biergarten 6p
Monday - Mama Melrose 12p, Ogas 1:20p and 3:20p (will drop one), 50s Prime Time 5:05p
Tuesday - Chef Mickeys 7:45a (will likely drop this one to get in the parks earlier and keep our Friday reservation), 11:45a Tonys, 1:15p BOG (again, will drop one), 4:45p BOG dinner, 6:45p The Wave (will drop one)
Wednesday - 1:15p Yak and Yeti, 5p Sanaa
Thursday - 7:30a Topolinos (will likely drop), 1:25p Hollywood and Vine, 2:50p Ogas, 5p Mama Melrose, 6:15p Beaches and Cream
Friday - Chef Mickeys 11a

OK ADRs made and I’m sure I’ll change them a dozen times before we go but I have:

Breakfasts at Topolino’s, Grand Floridian Cafe, & Kona
Lunches at Beaches & Cream, Via Napoli, The Plaza, & Hollywood Brown Derby
Dinners at Narcoosee’s, Cali Grill, Wine Bar George, Topolino’s & Sanaa (at sunset so we can explore the resort/see the animals before dinner :))

Thoughts?

I would love to do breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona....we love to rope rope and I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy my meal knowing people are filling in the parks already.

I thought I read on here that cheer was moved to April.

I actually kind of hope the hours on our trip stay the same. It’s so hard dragging my kids out of bed at 630 to make rope drop.

This is what I could find

Same cuz like I didn’t pay all this money to sleep in! But for the days we’re planning HS and Epcot since they open a little later we miiiight be able to swing it, or on our second MK day not rope drop and try to take it easy.

Hi, we’re booked for March 19-27, staying at the Contemporary. This will be our first trip to DW in almost 20 years. It’ll be DH, myself and our 6yo.
I’m trying to read about planning the perfect trip, but getting so overwhelmed.... so we might just “wing it”

"Perfect" is very subjective! Are there specific things you're interested in that you don't want to miss? (Dining? Attractions? Chill non-park activities?) I will say, if you're trying to figure out what's a "can't miss" from others' opinions there are definitely some things we all agree we love and other things that I've taken on recommendations and been disappointed in. But we'd all be happy to help catch you up on what to expect - even if you "wing it" you will still have a great trip because discovering new things is one of the best parts IMO!

Got you added to the list. My hubby and I went in 2019 but before that we hadn't been since 2008! A lot had changed in that time.

Got you added to the list. You'll be there some of the same time my group will be there. A lot has changed on 20 years and it can definitely be overwhelming. Any questions you have, feel free to ask them here. There are some pretty knowledgeable people on this thread. Oh, and today is your ADR day!

Tomorrow is my dining day and I have 1 restaurant I want and can’t think of anything else🤦‍♀️

I gotta ask; has anyone felt hypocritical in regards to their trips? I have been one of those people who chastised non mask wearers as well as people not limiting social gatherings this entire time. I even skipped out on Thanksgiving (albeit I did not Christmas). I have assumed the risks and keeping reading report after report of Disney doing a decent job. Which has given me a huge peace of mind that the trip will be enjoyable. BUT I have tell the people around me, many that I talked with about being super careful. Many that I will NOT tell of course but some I have no choice but to. So I figured what better place to ask as we here are all going and our trips are quickly approaching.

How's everyone feeling right now?

Wow, your planner was able to snag a lot. I am hoping I am able to get the ones we want when I am up and online at 5:00am my time.
