Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Decided to just make another post with my pie pics. LoL My top crust was falling apart so DD suggested I try to put some decorative pieces on the top. I decided to go with a turkey. :lmao: I said I think I've watched too much Great British Baking show during quarantine.

The turkey got a little burnt...hubby suggested I cover it with a piece of foil after it had been baking while so it didn't completely burn before the rest of the pie was finished cooking.

So well said, and exactly how I feel about all the people on this thread!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours also!

Stepson just sent me a pic of his 3 girls..we don't get to see them often, so the picture made me tear up. Thought I would share--

Lukes girls Thanksgiving 2020.jpgstill waiting for our dinner to be done. About another half hour. Sky is so dark, looks like it's going to rain, but its 62 degrees out. We recorded the Macy's Day Parade this morning, just finished watching it. They did a better job than I thought could be done in this 'weird' time!

Happy turkey day to you, B& B :)

What a lovely picture, Lynxstch! The inflatable turkey was cute and enjoyed seeing Santa as well. I'm not very parade patient so didn't watch the whole thing. One year I would love to see DL's Christmas parade again that is adorable and not too long.

So grateful extra this day for health and that of my Dad's along with the friendship of all of you! I also got to talk with my 97 year old friend Sue which was a Blessing indeed. I may text a couple other friends as well. Oh, as a follow up to yesterday, I decided to go with the Holy Bible on Amazon. I'll let you all know how I like it when it comes. Hugs!

I hope everyone had a nice day.

DH and I met DD and her family at a park halfway between our houses at 3 to swap food. It was up to 67 degrees so we could have eaten on the porch, but who knew. This was safer. Came home and had our dinner for two which was delicious. Then we had a Zoom with her and DS. A different but nice day.

I am a person who likes bargains and coupons so next is a sad story. I had been thinking about a subscription to a mystery box of the month type thing for DS. I finally decided to order it today. I had a code for 50% off the first month so thought I did well. Ordered just before 5 pm. Then a little after 8 I got an email that they are having a Black Friday sale with the first month free. Oh well, can’t win them all.

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. You have all made this “unprecedented time” a little easier and more bearable,

It was a nice day ,DD and her boyfriend came over and made dinner. The food was delicious. especially since I didn't have to make it. Then we had a Zoom call with our other 2 kids. We had three pies for four people, ha ha

DD and friend brought all our Christmas boxes from the basement so tomorrow I will start decorating. I want to get it done soon, so that is out of the way before DH has his surgery (it's suppose to be this next month)

Hope everyone had a nice day, also.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day! Mine has been relaxing. DD took care of cooking the whole meal. I went to see my mom this morning. She looked good but didn't say much of anything to me but that's okay.

I've been plagued with a cough and sore throat, just enough to be annoying, for about six days now I'm hoping due to seasonal allergies. My Covid test on Monday was negative but I began running a low grade fever this afternoon. I didn't have any fever when I went to see my mom so all I can do is pray and hope for the best. I wear a mask, sanitize once I enter the facility and get my temperature taken. If I had a temperature they wouldn't let me in. I get this sinus drainage and cough twice a year, usually in October and February so I didn't have any reason to think it would not be okay to go visit her. I won't go back to see her until I'm fever free.

Reading, praying, looking out the window can be stress relievers for me.

We put up what little bit of Christmas this evening. Usually we wait until the day after Thanksgiving but I didn't want to wait until the morning just in case I woke up feeling lousy. We just do a 3 foot tree with plastic ornaments, stockings hanging off the mantel and a nativity inside. I have a Santa that DD made me hanging on the door and we started buying lighted animal figures last year to put out in the flower beds for the kids. We've got a frog and a deer currently plus a blow up unicorn. The kids are tickled pink. Lil Joe keeps turning off all the lights in the house because the tree is prettier that way. :)

We had the typical Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatos, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole and rolls. I picked up some miniature pecan pies at Kroger on Monday for dessert.

Good morning everyone. Is anyone rushing to the stores today for any big sales? I won't be! Didn't see anything in any of the sales, except maybe the 22 piece T Fal cookeware set at Walmart. It was online at midnite, but I was deep in sleep by then. This morning it says only in stores, and that our store has a lot of them in stock. If they still have them tomorrow when I do grocery shopping, I will pick one up, if not, I won't lose any sleep over it, lol. I plan on writing Christmas cards out today, and will start decorating after that. Still haven't decided if I am going all out or not, but I dragged out the 10 totes and 3 boxes of stuff and have them in the middle of the cellar floor in case I do.
Dinner was so good last nite, I can't wait for leftovers, lol!
Have a great Friday all, if you are out shopping--BE SAFE!

Our niece was finally able to be married on the beach in Monterey CA on Wednesday. They had to change their date 3x because of covid related problems, but they finally made it. It was just the 2 of them, the officiant and his wife the photographer, and 2 people standing up for them. Rest of the family lives in MD, so they will be having a reception here for them in May (hopefully, since it was to be on Dec 30, but that got cancelled Tuesday nite, just too risky). Will post a pic as soon as she gets some back from the photographer. Black-Friday-shopping-survival.jpg

Good Morning, everyone :)

Congratulations to your niece, Lynxstch! Prayers you are able to enjoy a lovely May celebration with her and her husband!

I ordered a few things online yesterday. Briefly checked Walmart this morning, didn't seem to be anything I needed to order. I'm thinking perhaps "Cyber Monday" might offer more? I was hoping for Dad there'd be some PJ bottom choices cheap and I still need bootie slippers.

Keep warm and please stay safe all!
