Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

In your case I would request close to the lounge and a room on the large shared balcony. I know a lot of people don't like that large balcony but we love it especially when traveling with friends. The view is one of the best standard views at the YC...some of them are pretty bad. Make sure to let them know you have two rooms and would like them on that balcony...that request is pretty easy to get since most people don't want that balcony.
That would be awesome! Are there only the 2 rooms sharing the balcony and they are Club level?

Trick question!! You can walk both sides, but on the "non BW" side or the Swan/Dolphin side you will need to go up to the main road via a path, cross over the overpass via sidewalk, and then back down to the BW side via a path to pick up the walkway to DHS. It's a little out of the way and adds more time but doable. Your best bet is to stick with the BW side. I will add that the Swan/Dolphin side is more treed and offers shade, but that would be offset by the detour to get to the other side. BTW I was actually kidding about the "trick question"!

haha! Do I get a bonus if I ask a trick question without knowing it is a trick question? Thanks for that!

Also I heard of a BW shortcut? Anyone know how I would find that shortcut? What landmark do we need to look for each direction? There will probably be times where we want the walk to be over as soon as we can.

Anyone do the walk from Royal Pacific at Universal to the parks? How does this walk compare? (Sorry that is the last time I walked like this to a park so it is my reference).

There are 4 rooms on the balcony but we have rarely seen anyone else on it. It is very large and close to the lounge, plenty of room to spread out with your family. There is a large shared balcony on the 3rd 4th and 5th floors. The lounge is on the 5th.

Use it all of the time! If coming from BC, head over to BW via bridge towards ESPN Club. Walk past ESPN, Ample Hills, Bakery, etc. until you get to the Surrey Bike rental kiosk. Take a left after you pass this. You'll pass by Wyland Gallery on your right and then take a quick right. Health club and game room will be on your left and you'll come out by the clown slide pool. Stay to the left around the pool and you'll run right in to the pathway to DHS. If you miss the pathway you'll be in the canal! :boat:

I can handle this one for you--the walk is comparable to the RP/City Walk/Uni walk--just far less twisting and turning.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

The majority of rooms at the resort have two queen beds. Some, but not all have daybeds. Will you be fine with just two beds or would you be more comfortable with an additional daybed?

The best way to submit a room request is to call Disney Central Reservations (or have your travel agent do it). List your requests in priority order.

"Full balcony, please. Daybed if possible for 3 adults of different genders. Not first floor."

:dogdance:

Thanks so much! I honestly hadn't even thought about the daybed question. It would be great to have though. I think I'll call and ask for the reservation exactly how you suggested.

:thanks:

Are guest surveys still a thing?

Please reply only if you have received a survey to complete following a Disney stay in the past year.

I have a section devoted to the importance of the surveys in the FAQ post, but I suspect this is outdated info.

:thanks:
I received a survey when we got home. It was specific to Epcot. Mostly related to dining. How we dined, when, where, etc.

Question...I thought all YC CL water view rooms were on the 5th floor? Are there CL rooms on the 4th floor? We're booked YC CL Water View....we've gotta have a full balcony!!!

My flub! The CL room without the balcony is 5163 Water view

I believe all of the rooms below this room 4163, 3163, 2163 also do not have the full balconies.

So although it is statistically unlikely that you will be assigned to this particular room, you may want to add your preference for a balcony to your request.

Sorry about the confusion!

Hi everyone...it's been a long time since I've been on this thread! We are frequent Disney visitors but it's been a while since we've had a YC / BC trip planned.

I just booked another trip for very early January...but this time it's just for my daughter and her friend. She is a twenty-something and this will be her very first trip without us! My DD has a definite love affair with the Yacht Club. We've stayed there twice and she has loved everything about it since she was a young tween. For this first trip sans-parents, she really wanted to head back to the YC.

My DH is a CM so we are fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of some nice pricing. However, for the dates my DD wanted, all we could get was BC (which we've never stayed at). Now, usually we are CL people and we are major suckers for a great view. However, we told our DD that you've got to work your way up in life, so a standard room it will be! We are helping her pay for the trip so she knows she is incredibly lucky to be staying in a Deluxe as it is. She is a great kid and is grateful that she's able to go to Disney at all.

Back in the day, my DH and I did have one stay in a YC standard view room. We looked out over a lovely rooftop and a dumpster! :rotfl: So, while I do want my DD to "work her way up to nicer things", I'm hoping to help her avoid the worst case scenario in terms of the view.

So, my question is, what is the nicest standard view to request at BC? Will a lower floor give them a better chance of avoiding a barren rooftop or service area? Maybe I'll just request "no dumpster please"! Our last three trips were Poly TPV, BWI Boardwalk View, and GF TPV...I fear that we have instilled unrealistic view expectations in our children...oops!

She won't get a dumpster view at the BC. The dumpsters are all located by the YC. But her chances of getting a flat roof view are pretty good. Most of the standard views are on the 3rd and 4th floor. I think the best you can do is to ask for a good view. You might get pleasantly surprised. ;)

Hi Scott,

We were in the room above your room, #3565, a few years ago. We had a standing balcony and the refrigerator was in its own cabinet instead of in the dresser. Here is a link to my report in the Beach Club room view thread:

The tree outside the window was smaller then, too. :)
Hey there,
It looks like while we had a bigger balcony, your room would have suited us better. There looks like there was more room, and more thought put into storage. Do I also see two chairs? For us, a problem was that when one of us was napping, or sleeping in, the lack of space made it difficult for the other person to do anything but leave the room! We also only had one sink which was a bit of a pain getting ready, as we have 2 at home.

Yes, it had two chairs. Since we didn't have a door to a balcony they were able to put a chair there. We did have only one sink, though, which I didn't like at all.

We were at BC last september and there was a day that minnie, Donald, and a few characters came to the pool and did some fun dances poolside. Do they still do this and which days? Thank you!!

Hey everyone! Need your help! If you had a recent stay at the Beach Club or if you have one in the next month or so, could you let us know what was in your room for a coffee maker!

Stay tuned, though!

It's possible, but I'm not sure if all rooms have received Keurig replacements for the Cuisinart coffee makers.

Any updates on this?

There is a hallway of rooms on the second floor, just beyond the main bank of elevators that overlook the BC/BCV courtyard. They are directly above the outdoor dining area/walkway from Marketplace to BCV. Great views, full balcony, we had very little noise or none that we found bothersome. They are great standard view near the lobby, short walk to buses and SAB. We had six adults and three rooms, 2610, 2612 and 2614. On a prior visit we also had the second room down the hall from the elevators, same floor--also nice view, full balcony and not at all noisy. Might be an option for her.

Not a great photo of the view--the roof you see is the walkway but it is not totally obstructive--I would assume the views from 3rd floor are similar--just not sure of the balcony size above.
