I love credit cards so much!

ok what does 2 weeks mean when you call? Needed to call to get signed into my account but called to see if I was approved first since I can't log on to check. Thanks

This is 'typically' a good sign of impending approval. I am one of the rare cases that got the 2-week message and was later denied. Normally, you can begin to get a bit giddy after hearing the 2-week message :D

Awesome - I PMed you some info on our DISchurners site as well as some biz card application tips! I think the "list" of cards you'd be interested in are:
  • Chase Ink Preferred (CIP) - biz card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR)
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP)
  • Southwest Business Card
  • Southwest Personal Card(s) - there are 3 of them
Since your husband is interested too you can alternate applying for cards and even refer each other to cards for extra points! A CIP card for you now would be a great start while we formulate the rest of the plan. That signup bonus is 80,000 Ultimate Rewards (URs) for $5,000 Minimum Spend Requirement (MSR) in 3 months. That signup is worth somewhere between $850 and $1,275 depending on how you redeem the points!

I don't have any "support link" available on CIP currently...but PLEASE consider supporting one of our great DISers when you apply. You can find a support link on our DISchurners Reddit group (which I PMed you about). :)

THANK YOU! And I will definitely get started on Reddit, and support however I can. :yay:

I feel like I'm embarking on a fun journey! I LOVE researching and making/updating spreadsheets, so I'm hoping to put that to good use!!

As soon as they become payable, you can use again- up to 3x in a calendar month for each merchant. Last time I checked though, neither Staples or Walgreens were running worthwhile offers :( Let me know if you see something good on the app!
They are good for me b/c I am using CF for 5x UR at walgreens stacked with RMN, and amex cards at staples for 10% back stacked with RMN.

yeah I really hope its approved since last time it was denied back in May and that hurt since it was my first denial. Now to wait till tonight to call back to check LOL

Selling on eBay is my 'business' too :) You are in a perfect position to go for the Chase Ink Preferred (CIP). It's a fav around here for the sign-up bonus.

I didn't see the previous responses to your first post but just an fyi, the SW personal cards have low bonuses right now so I'd hold off on those.

If you can meet a 5k spend in 3 mos., I'd suggest you start with the CIP.

Thank you!!

What airline are your Canada trips on?

Delta/WestJet for the most part

I would do the CIP that way you can always transfer your UR points to an airline that would work for your travel needs. Plus the 80k bonus is well worth it for the $5000 spend in my opinion

Thank you!

I guess I could do the same but I want those better offers back lol!

That would be nice but I have an impending trip so these are decent discounts.

Walgreens is approx 17.5% off $25 card (7.5% URs redeemed thru CSR/portal, 10% back RMN).

Staples is approx 20% off $50 card (10% back RMN ($5/30) and 10% back amex). This doesn't incl the amex points since I don't even use those yet.

I have a business card already and my account is actually a business account. I attached my personal cards to it. I cleared my cookies again and now having to call them to get back on. I'll call them in a couple days to get logged on this way it gives time for my app to process don't want to mess with that.

no it won't bypass the 2/30

Wish I only had one log in...but I had personal accounts first and they told me the business could not be done ..but this was 4 years ago

Here's mock strategy of what your first year could look like:
P1 is you and P2 is Husband

08/18 - P1 - CIP
11/18 - P1 - CSR/CSP double dip - so that you have a CSR and can effectively use your URs
01/19 - P2 - CIP (referred by P1)
03/19 - P1 - SW cards (1 biz / 1 personal) - earn a Companion Pass (CP)
06/19 - P2 - CSR/CSP double dip

That isn't the only way to play the game...but if you did that, you'd earn a minimum of $6,500 in URs towards flights, hotels, etc. and have over $1,600 in SW points AND a companion pass. I just wanted to give you an idea of what you could achieve in a short amount of time with 2 players. That would be over $8k in travel value back on just $30k in purchases to meet the MSRs (min. spend requirements).

I also didn't include in there using the CIC/CIU cards which you both could get that has another $3k plus in value! You don't want to go too fast at the start though - pace yourself!

You are right. I'm just being greedy lol! I also was hoping if I didn't use the current offers, and thinking others would not use them either, maybe they would realize the need to give better offers back. Probably wishful thinking though!
