Anyone going to watch the royal wedding ?

We will watch, but not live. Once we are home in the evening after a swim meet, we will watch. I’m making scones, lemon elderflower cake, tea sandwiches, a cheese plate, fresh fruit and tea. That will be our dinner. For me, it’s always about the food.

I’ll be watching. I’ve been following all the Royal news lately. I sure feel bad for Meghan and her father. I think other family members (except Meghan) have been leading him astray lately. That half brother, and especially the half sister, have both been behaving badly.

Some uninvited Markle extended family members showed up in London for the festivities. The two on the right look like they're planning to become squatters outside Buckingham Palace. Hopefully the Klassy tank top wearing loser packed his tuxedo T-shirt for the ceremony.

:snooty: Pretty sure that plebian slob won't know his bone plate from his salad knife. :sad2: I predict this will not end well.

I might watch just to see if her family that wasn't invited throws a kegger outside the church.
This whole thing seems like one big Maury Povich episode.

I do want to see her dress but I'll just look at the pics after.

I love the fact that you worked the word "plebian" into a regular conversation. I don't know why I find it so amusing :rotfl2:
I’m pretty sure that’s the word Royals use for people like me and that guy in the picture. It was the term “salad knife” I had to google. ;)

They really have been best friends all this time. They've really made "conscious un-coupling" and conscious re-coupling" work so far. It would be nice if they actually did re-marry. It was the "Firm" and all their overbearing rules and Andrew not being around to defend her, that broke up their marriage.

After 3 of Queen Elizabeth's children ended in divorce, this is why the "Firm" has backed off on Will & Harry. It's obvious that Meghan wasn't "vetted," or her crazy family and their problems would have appeared during the vetting process. :crazy2:

Yeah, I can't imagine QEII would have given her approval 30 years ago.

All I can think is, if Princess Margaret were still alive would it have prodded the Queen to be more likely to approve or disapprove of the match? I sure would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for private discussions, sister to sister, about the situation.

ETA I won't be watching. I'll look for images of the dress online and I'm sure there will be snips on the news about the ceremony, festivities, comings and goings. Ironically a week ago I would have been grateful for the distraction during an endless, incredibly loud and bright thunderstorm that made sleep impossible for many, many of the wee hours of Saturday morning here.

Nope, will wait, as coverage will be all day. Snippets are fine for me. Didn't watch Will's wedding "live" either.

Some news source said that those uninvited family members will be doing some TV commentary for some of the British tabloid shows. So, they will talk about Meghan as she's in the carriage & stuff, and telling stories about her when she was with them and much younger. :sad2:

So the sister, Samantha, claims to have been followed by the paparazzi today and driven off the road into a concrete barrier. She's so slimy, it's hard to know whether she is telling the truth, or not.

She's supposedly hobbling around with a broken or twisted ankle now.

Being sick worked for her Dad getting more days being in the media, so why not for her? :sad2:

So this is real family that actually knew her growing up? That seems so inappropriate, even if they tell positive, benign stories. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I became publicly prominent and my second cousins or great aunt that I saw at family reunions when I was a little girl went on TV and talked about how I picked wildflowers and stuck them in my hair or how I don't like marshmallows or whatever.

No, they actually didn't. Neither did the half-sister, who was on every tabloid show in Britain last week. She only knew her when they were young children and there is one pic of them when Megan was at her h.s. graduation. But, she likes to INFER that they've had an ongoing relationship.

When Piers Morgan or TMZ finally released the info that Meghan has NOT been in contact with her and wished she'd stop talking about her (Meghan,) the half-sister BLASTED her, saying she has freedom of speech in the U.S. and she can talk ABOUT Meghan if she wants. She said she has NOT said she is in current contact with her, but has only been talking about herself and her dad in this situation, how it's been affecting him. [She had lied] saying that she was the one to give her dad the idea of going to the paparazzi to take new pics. (Maybe to get herself involved in the situation OR to help her dad out.) But she has never said she's been in contact with Meghan. The only thing she has said about Harry is that she thinks he is sweet and cute. [All verified by TMZ.] BUT, her being on all those tabloid shows INFERS she is in current contact with Meghan when she's not.

Those distant, uninvited relatives will most likely do the same, making the same tabloid circuit. :sad2:

Wow, that's dysfunctional to say the least. I assumed second cousin twice removed kind of stuff.

If she made that up, then it's quite reprehensible, given how Harry's mother died.

 I hadn't made that connection! :sad2:

According to Harvey Levin 2 days ago, when he personally spoke to the father, the father said that the half-sister lied about her giving him the idea to take the pics with the paparazzi. He said, it was all and only his idea. She was never involved in any of that.

The father also said he believes what gave him the heart attack was reading the "open letter" that his son, (the half-brother,) wrote to Harry about a week ago, telling him to get out while he can. It upset him greatly.

Here's an excerpt written in the British tabloid, The Sun:

"In an explosive open letter, Meghan's estranged relative slammed the wedding as a "fake fairy tale".

The man who shares a father with the Suits star addressed the 33-year-old royal with: "Dear Prince Harry, It's not to late, Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.

"As more time passes to your Royal Wedding, it becomes very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history.

"I'm confused why you don't see the real Meghan that the whole world now sees.

"Meghan's attempt to act the part of a princess like a below C average Hollywood actress is getting old."

The letter was published in In Touch Weekly after Markle Jr wrote it on April 26, just weeks ahead of his half-sister's big day.

After slamming her relationship he later wrote a new open letter to Meghan at the beginning of May - sharing fond childhood memories and wishing her well for the big day.

The 51-year-old, from Oregon, claimed Meghan abandoned their father Thomas Markle Sr, despite him pouring money into her career when she first started out.

He wrote: "What kind of person starts out by using her own father until he's bankrupt, then forgets about him in Mexico leaving him broke, over mostly all her debts.

"And when it's time to pay him back she forgets her own father like she never knew him."

The lack of a wedding invite for Thomas also appeared to be a sore spot, as he added: "Not to mention, to top it all off, she doesn't invite her own family and instead invites complete strangers to the wedding. Who does that?"

But he added: 'Meghan is still my sister, she is family. So whatever happens is up to her, whether she wants to forget knowing me or the rest of her family, family comes first.'"

You can see the handwritten letter here as well as The Sun article:

I think it did naturally upset him very much. The family lunacy came out in public.

 :headache: And not only did the half-brother disparage Meghan, but he made the the father seem like some bankrupt, deadbeat loser. That gave fuel for the paparazzi to take pics to make the dad look really bad. :stir: I *think* THAT could be what spurred him to make a deal with the paparazzi. Not only to make himself look better, but to show that Meghan doesn't have a deadbeat dad, and maybe, what the half-brother wrote wasn't true at all. :(

TMZ Live aired about an hour ago. I haven't watched it yet. Stay tuned. This circus seems to change by the hour.

My TMZ Live got interrupted by a local breaking news story. So I didn't get all the latest info. However, what I did learn was:

Elton John will perform. It's unknown whether he will get up and perform sometime during the wedding ceremony in the church. Or whether it will be later at the reception. His people had cancelled & re-scheduled performances he was supposed to do in the states several weeks ago, saying there was a scheduling conflict. And now we all know what that is. ;)

The crazy half-sister's name is Samantha Grant. Piers Morgan, the other day, had blasted her, saying she had purposely changed her name back to Samantha Markle so she could cash in on being Meghan's half sister and the Markle name fame. But, I noticed that today, TMZ referred to her as Samantha Grant. So, I don't know if she changed her name back. Or if TMZ never did enable her with a name change to Markle.

Anyway, Harvey said that the half-sister is going to have her own "watch party" at her house in FL. Of course!

I missed Diana's and Charles' wedding and see no reason not to miss that of their children's.

Princesses, whether, American or not, just don't mean that much to me unless I know them up close and personal.
It also would interest me more if they were paying my bills.

So did you also skip the Disney movies with princesses in them: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Merida, and Mulan?
