How much is your 2019 trip costing you ?

I'm booked 26th December until 12th January staying at Poly 26th to the 30th with US tickets then Royal Pacific Resort 30th until 2nd then onto Animal Kingdom Lodge. Booked the first stay with a friend who is a US Disney Agent that includes Dining Plan and 3 day park hopper. Then the rest of the Disney trip again has Dining Plan booked Animal Kingdom Lodge by David's DVC renting points for a Savannah view room, I'm paying for the dining plan and have purchased our tickets. All together it's cost around £6000. It was definitely cheaper for us as a party of 2 to book the DVC and pay for our dining plan. Savannah view room if booked via the UK websites with the free dining was going to cost us £5000 for the 10 days with Davids DVC it was £1700 for the Savannah view room then around an extra £1000 for dining and our tickets cost £800.

I'm actually now looking at getting DVC via resale as it definitely seems like a great deal for us with costs rising for bookings. If we had wanted to go during our usual time of August for next year it was going to be over £6000 so would have saved considerably with DVC.

Have you used David's DVC rentals before? Any issues? Prices are definitely getting crazy when travelling from UK

Yesterday I priced up a package on TUI for BC for the last 2 weeks in August 2019 and for 2adults 2children (DD is classed as Disney adult cause she'll be 10) and it cost £9500 with park tickets and "free" dining.

I was pleasantly surprised :) tempted to book but hubby was having none of it ;)

Was meant to reply to @Nicnic but it didnt work.

Well I guess that’s still a lot of cash ‍♂️

We're going in November 2019. We're taking our 4 kids (17, 14, 5 and 2) but our 2 year old is turning 3 about 4 days after we arrive so we're getting him the dining plan and park tickets as well.
We could have pretended that his birthday was after we get back and stayed for about £2.5k less but didn't want to risk getting caught out so it's cost us about £7500 minus flights.
Hopefully flights won't be much more than about £2500 themselves

I think I’m right in saying it’s how old your child is on day 1 of your holiday. It doesn’t matter if he turns 3 during your holiday, the important fact his he’s 2 on day 1.

Unfortunately, when I spoke to Disney and they asked for his date of birth, they told us that because he turned 3 when we were there, we would have to get a family room that sleeps 6 (All Star Music or Art of Animation) rather than one that sleeps 5 and a baby (CBR). Due to the resort change from CBR to ASM, dining prices then went up as well as it's only a free breakfast at the values rather than a free QS at the moderates.
They say it's because of Florida's fire code that they can't have the wrong amount of people in one room so it's ended up costing us a lot more than it would have done anyway.
They also told us that if a CM found out that he was 3 (We're celebrating his 3rd birthday there so it' going to be obvious), then we could be charged for entry and any dining so we thought it was better to pay it all now rather than get caught out.

Disney is never going to be cheap!
Some good deals around at the moment though. As Coronado Springs is having building work, it seems prices have been dropped. The exterior building work will be completed by the time we visit (Easter 19) but there is still roughly a £300 discount on the room, well worth a look to get a moderate resort closer to the price of a value. We have manged to get the free Dining Plan, 14 for 7 passes and $200 gift card.
All in all £2500 for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant for a week (we are off site for a second week) during UK school holidays is pretty good for Disney.
It seems the early UK offers are strong at the moment, especially against offers that US customers are being offered.

Around £4000 for 2 adults - flights, All-Star Sports, 21-day passes, Universal tickets and memory maker.

We have finally accepted that we’re not rich so booked a very sensible 8 nights at POR with and upgrade to DDP, for May 2019. That’s coming in at £2555 so totally doable for us. If closer to the time we think we can afford it, we’ll add a night or two at a universal hotel to the beginning but that tends to add on around £1,000 which is an awful lot to take from our cocktail budget...

Sept 2019 - 4 adults
4 Nights HRH Universal = £1100 (wanted Express Pass as DD BF is HUGE potter fan)
2 universal tickets (DD & BF) = £470
2 universal AP upgrades for me & DH = £70
10 Nights POFQ/ QSDP & Tickets = £3500

Flights & car budget = £2200

Total cost £7350
(Better still - since DD will be 21 and her boyfriend 24 they are paying their share so for me and DH cost is £3470)

We are even considering a 3 day Bahama - just me and DH to so we can have a bit of us time.

Rather than a 3 day cruise, I’d recommend booking a flight from Orlando to Nassau with JetBlue, and booking a room at Atlantis - probably be cheaper and you’d get more “island time”.

OMG that’s sooo expensive

Makes the 6k am spending not seem as bad lol

and i only quoted the cruise part, without the flights or the precruise hotel or the eurostar from ashford to DLP for 9 people...or all the van transfers to and from everything......
or the 3 rooms for 9 people at DLP....or the food at DLP......and without all the tips on the cruise or the rest of the time and without any excursions on board the cruise....
suffice to say that the amount i posted above is probably only half of what we'll be spending.....maybe even more than that....
but life is short...you never know what tomorrow will bring (as in i'm fighting cancer right now...that trip in 2019 will be the celebration of coming through to the other side)....
so what's a little money in the grand scheme of things....we have magical memories of a lifetime spent with the kids growing up at disney...
we plan on continuing it with the grandkids and the whole family.....it's not cheap, but it makes us all happy...

oh...and given the extreme expense of the european disney cruise and DLP visit, you may be wondering why we don't just go to WDW, where for the same money, the whole family could stay for a full month...
it's because of the distance....we fly from israel, so getting to orlando takes more than forever.....so many hours traveling it's just too difficult right now for DS (with 2 kids and the third about to be born - they're in the hospital at this very minute as i write this)..
it's just too far for them to fly with the three young kidlets...even with our help.....and living out of a suitcase for a month, even a very nice suitcase at SSR, is challenging with 3 wee ones...

so 2019 is in europe...

the next full family extravaganza at WDW is scheduled for 2023.......so the oldest grandkid will be 9 by then....the next one 7 and the newest one 5...absolutely perfect....and WDW will be all fresh and new....and no doubt expensive and crowded...but still magical to us... :)
