Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We had three rooms and were lucky enough to have them all next to one another. We had 2610, 2612 and 2614. We overlooked the courtyard between BC and BCV. While the roof of the walkway was just beyond our balconies--all were full balconies and the views were not bad in the whole scheme of things. Rooms 2612 and 2614 were connecting, but 2610 did not have a connecting door.

Wish I had a picture from the balcony, but honestly it was so hot while we were there that we spent very little time outside. The views from 2610 and 2614 were nearly the same.

The rooms were very conveniently located to the lobby (one floor above) which provided easy access to Marketplace, the front and rear entrances, and a reasonable walk to either the leisure pool or Stormalong.
Did any of the rooms have queen beds and a daybed?

Hi all! Have the Crew's Cup Lounge hours changed? I was hoping to grab something there for lunch, but now I only see hours starting at 4:30 pm. Thanks for your help!
The Ale and Compass Lounge is open for lunch now instead of Crews Cup. We had dinner at Crews Cup and it was a very limited menu.

So, we we're at the Yacht Club lest weekend. Awesome trip. I've never stayed on the boardwalk before, and I have to say I'm a convert! Hoping to score some good deals in the future! :)

We had room 3089. We had faxed in a request to be on the boardwalk side, and not on the first floor. Either the saw our text or it was an awesome coincidence! Anyhow, I'll post outview as soon as I can get the files uploaded.

Everyone was very friendly and the resort is awesome. One thing I found really strange though. There were 4 of us staying in the room for 3 nights. Housekeeping did not give ANY new toiletries past what was originally in the room. I had to go get some shampoo from a cart one of the says so we could shower! Anybody else run into that?

Yesterday morning when we left our room I put out $5 and a request for extra conditioner sand shampoo and they did leave us extra.

There is a very active thread addressing a change in resort policy, with Disney's Security entering rooms for "safety checks." The security check seems to be triggered when a room declines housekeeping, and the check is without notice, other than a sudden knock on the door.

Did anyone at the YC/BC receive a "safety check" from Security, while in the room, and, if so, what was your experience? Some guests are concerned about someone entering their room while they are showering, sleeping, not dressed, etc., or while their kids are alone in the room.

The policy originally was announced for monorail resorts.

Instead of placing a "Private" or "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, there is a door hanger that says "Off to Neverland;" however, there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the sign, which states that Disney CMs have the right to enter the room, nontheless.

Looking to attend F&W September/October 2019...so I'm following this post for info on BC.

We got back from our first WDW experience on January 4th after staying at POFQ. EPCOT was my DD11's fave park, so the thought of being that close to our fave park is very appealing, especially for F&W.

Just reading wistfully...we will be at Yacht Club May 2020, 2.5 years!!!

But hey...at least I can make reservations around June/July 2019, that's only 1.5 years away... :o

Happy Planning!!! I always book far out, it seems to fly by. I put a countdown on my phone and before you know it your making your dining reservations. I hope to book a bounceback when we are there in June, we will see. Have fun :thumbsup2:D

What countdown do you use for your phone?

Could we please just keep this discussion to the already existing threads? There is lots and lots of discussion and folks can post their experience there.

I believe that most current guests or upcoming guests do not even know about the policy, let alone the thread; I came across it by accident.

As I have an upcoming visit in the near future to the YC/BC, I am looking for current information. I'm not looking for or anticipating this inquiry going off on tangents about opinions, etc.

As a regular poster and contributor to this thread, I do not believe that my post is either unreasonable or objectionable. If this new practice is in place at the YC/BC, I'm sure that others with upcoming stays would like to be aware of it, just as with any other change in policies, amenities, or other changes at the resort, that will affect guests there.

I totally agree with Hopefully, but Shoreward does have a point about it being an important policy to know about. Maybe Dee could add a note to Page 1 somewhere that the policy exists, with a link to one or more of the threads discussing it? Then the policy is mentioned without this fabulous thread degenerating into the arguments and complaining and sniping that's going on elsewhere...similar to the dogs issue. :-) I like this thread and I want to keep it as my happy place, kind of like the BC itself...

That is a great suggestion. Will do.

Although this is not the place for arguments or complaining about the policy, much like the dog thing, I wouldn't mind hearing about guests' actual experiences with security visits happening at the Yacht & Beach. People can post their experiences here, or if they post on one of the other thread, let us know that they posted there.

I don't always get to other threads on the resorts board- I scan them periodically, but trying to keep up here keeps me busy enough!

Hi all, I’ve been MIA for some time because our August trip is to OKW due to Yacht Club having no availability for our dates. Well, now there is availability so I have an email into my TA for a transfer of booking. Fingers crossed that we get the move. In our favour is that OKW is undergoing refurb and Disney have been transferring August bookings to SSR. I’m hoping Disney will jump with joy that we want to give up a 1 bed villa.

I’m also blaming Tim Tracker for his wonderful resort walk through a couple of weeks ago. Loving the new food options at Yacht Club, finally somewhere to refill that mug.

So excited to be heading back to YC next weekend for my b-day. Hoping to see a few pups out and about while there (we miss our Klondike dearly, and the days she would tag along on our trips and spend her vacay at Best Friends).

Anyway, does anyone know if all rooms are now complete with the refurb? And which rooms have showers (vs. bathtubs)? I so prefer showers, and will request accordingly to hopefully snag one!

TIA!
Cindy

Thanks @bookbabe626 You said what I was thinking so much better than I did. I too am a frequent contributor to this thread. The security threads are so contentious and I want to keep this thread, yes informative, but ourhappy place too.
