DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Got it!
do you put one can under each smore?
Yeah, but we only ever do 2 at once so its pretty easy. Or if you're really lazy you can put them in the oven, with a bit of foil underneath, because no-one wants to be scraping burnt mallow off the bottom of the oven.

Gotcha.
Might look into getting one of those. :)

Happy Saturday. Tennis this morning. Knees don't hurt, but didn't push it, and managed to win 2 out of 3.

Gotta work tonight at the church @ the Epiphany Party. Had to go pick up the cakes and deal with some crap already at the office. Missed city/county meet today. DW placed 3 out of 4 events (swim has 8 lanes) - 6th in 500 free, 6th in 100 fly, and third in 400 free relay. She qualified for Regionals for all 3 events.

Hey guys, just checking in. Met a few of the old timers in the Animal Kingdom today. We split up after we rode the Safari together. It was cold this AM and it kicked my butt. Skipped the BBQ because I was so spent this afternoon. Despite the weather we are having a good time.

You're complaining about the weather? C'mon man!!!

View attachment 292640 View attachment 292641 Hello from DDCC 6! Here are some pictures.

Glad one of you down there still remembers the site that started it all.

Norm, what's Vero Beach like? Me and the Lady K were looking at it for our beach section in August. Have you stayed in the 2 beds? (Don't have enough points for the cottages, thought they look lovely). Do the DVC's look over the sea?

Have a great Saturday Chaps, and hopefully the storms/explosive cyclones are not hitting you too hard. London (sort of) out.

Vero is terrific. Been there as many times as my home resort Boardwalk. The staff is terrific. Bad weather one trip, so staff did paper airplanes with my girls and a few others, and flew them from the 2nd floor in the lobby.

I usually get bored at beach vacations, but they have pool, water slide, mini golf, tennis, basketball court, and green space for lawn games. Then, there is that whole beach thing, and the usual Disney pool games, fire, smores, resort scavenger hunt, turtle search on the beach, character breakfast, spa, and the view from the Green Cabin Room is amazing. We never did the kayak stuff - maybe one year.

We only have done the studios - ocean view inn room and garden view inn room. The balcony was so small that we just save the points and do the garden view since the resort is right there on the beach.

Hello gents. Looks like the guys down at DaWorld are having a good tim. Took down all the outdoor decorations today despite the cold temps got it all done. Last day DS is home so a bit of a bummer. Gonna just hang rest of the day and watch the Titans here in a couple. Cheers gents and stay warm.

Nice job with the tennis and congrats to DS? Or is DW know swimming competitively?

Completely agree with Norm on Vero, great resort, low key from DaWorld. For Dan have done 2 bedroom there with a partial view of the ocean but like Norm referenced Green Cabin room is awesome.

Cheers boys, I think its locked and loaded. 4 Nights BCV in a Studio, 3 Nights in a 2 bed at the Vero for a cheeky beach break and then back for 7 nights at the Poly.
Me and Lady K have been hitting youtube hard today looking at the options.

This was High School City/ County meet. We have 2 county, 1 city, and 1 Catholic High School. This meet qualifies for Regionals. Regionals qualifies for state. The club swimmers all compete on their respective HS teams. 6th on her individual events probably won't get her to state cuts. But, she has a good chance with 3rd on the relay team.

Three great resorts. I didn't think about WDW to beach to WDW, but we are only staying for 10 days. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Morning fellas, from a 0 but Sunny London. Another kids party today. Lady K was doing it as I did the one yesterday but now she is sick. There goes the game plan of watching the football. Today is the 3rd round of the FA Cup, which is the greatest football cup competition in the world. Once or twice a year one of the small teams makes a run against the giants of the PL. West Ham have Shrewsbury away, one of those games you dread as there is nothing in it for us, and everything for them.

All these best to the boy, Mike, enjoy your Sunday.

Congrats to DD, mate.
No way on paper, especially considering out shot Sweden almost 2-1,
Why is everyone losing their shizzle over the Swedish guy who tossed his medal?
During Food & Wine would seem to make a good time, say mid September.
I'll have more chance hitting Jan than Sep. Thats' when the kids go back to school. The kids go back a week later in 19, so there is a VERY small chance that its on. Maybe a cheeky 5 days. I don't think we'll ever do Xmas in WDW, I can't get my head around warm weather and Xmas.

Have a good Sunday all, Pasta Bolognese for the kids and I'm having it with Courgetti, as I'm off the carb.
Hopefully 5k run tonight.
London Out.

Tp O the Mornin Dads! Still unusually cold here but supposed to get warmer after today. Gonna take the boy out to breakfast before he hits the road back to school and then a low key Sunday watching football and my struggling Blackhawks. Enjoy you Sunday guys.

Hope the Mrs feels better and thanks for the well wishes for our boy. We’ve done Christmas at DaWorld 3 times - it is really something special. It gets a bit chilly at night and is mostly sweatshirt weather that time of the year.

Morning all. Not much going on today other than work.

Enjoy watching them later after you've recorded them and are recovering from the party.

because it's disrespectful.
And IMHO, illustrates what's wrong with a lot of that generation. (Yes, I'm painting them with a broad brush, I know.)

Morning Guys.

Last day of the break for me, back to work tomorrow. Other than the cold weather, this is been a relaxing break. Speaking of the cold, -40C today with the windchill thrown in. Not very good for any type of outdoor activity.

Watched some the second half of the Man U/Derby County game the other day. Took a long time to score but they did seem to dominate most of the play.

Tossing the medal was a stupid thing for the kid to do. I think he probably did it in the heat of the moment but if he really was that upset and didn't want it there were better ways of dealing with the disappointment. I know he got it back and hopefully he kept it this time. If not he will regret it later in life.

Enjoy the breakfast. I feel for you with your Hawks; I've pretty much stopped watching the Habs.

Yeah, I hear you. We've warmed up a lot today. (-10C)
I used to cross country ski a fair bit. The wax on the skis doesn't work at those temps. Anything below about -25 or so and there's no point. Too cold to really enjoy a good skate (although I used to have practices at those temps when I was a kid. Nothing more fun than a room full of boys all crying because their feet hurt so badly.)

Buddy, you must have been as fit as a Butcher's dog. I did it a couple of times even when I was proper fit and found muscles I didn't know I had.

Enjoy watching them later after you've recorded them and are recovering from the party.
Nah. 0-0. That one is going straight in the delete file. I'll watch the NFC wild cards tonight.
