What Resorts Do You Refuse to Stay At?

SSR is our least favorite and I wouldn't stay there again unless it was practically free.
I refuse to pay even half rack rate for most deluxe studio rooms. The resorts are beautiful but, imo, they aren't worth the price.

For perspective, we usually rent DVC points for 2 bedroom villas. Our favorite resort is AKL.

I'm surprised so many people are saying values. I only stayed 2 nights at ASMu, but we actually loved it. It was immediately following our disappointing stay at SSR, so that might have weighted our opinion, but I would absolutely book multiple rooms there before staying at SSR again.

Any value. Any moderate besides port Orleans French quarter or riverside. And definitely not beach club.
Probably wouldn’t consider Saratoga or old key west either.
Come to think of it, I wouldn’t stay at the Swan or dolphin either.

The ones that allow dogs.

Really even without the dogs, not sure I'd go back to POR. It's so sprawled out and the last time we were there had multiple issues with Mousekeeping. The All-Stars. I *might* be tempted to spend 1 night at an All-Star if I needed to, but that's it.

Grand Floridian. It was a dream of mine to stay there. Finally did to mark it off the bucket list and was really, really underwhelmed. The walls are SO thin - I could hear our neighbors planning their day each morning. They were from Australia and had 2 little girls. Mind you, we never met, that's literally because we heard them as well as if they were in our room each day. We had issues with the plumbing that were never really fixed. Concierge was too star struck by some actor from Lost who was staying there to give the rest of us the time of day. Overall miserable experience for the most expensive resort on property.

The All Stars are probably the lowest rung for me, I mean if it was the right time of year and I was going to be living at the parks and just needed a bed, maybe I'd stay there...but hubby likes for there to be a bar (other than a pool bar) so that eliminates all values. I have a soft spot for Pop though, my first on site trip I stayed there. I preferred the 50s to the 70s though (still have nightmares of the disco music)

I wouldn’t refuse to stay at any resort. If I find myself in a situation where I have to stay in a value resort or not go at all, I will probably stay at a value resort. However, I have stayed at Pop Century twice and have no desire to return to a value. I also don’t really want to stay at Beach Club again. I want a full balcony and only have a 50/50 chance of getting one. I realize I can request one, but I did when I stayed there before and ended up with a standing balcony.

Even if someone else paid I would not stay in the campgrounds (too old for that now), the resorts that accept dogs (allergies), or the values (rather stay off-site). I would not turn down CBR or the Poly if someone else paid but out of my own pocket they are one and done resorts.

We have stayed at POR twice and FQ twice and we are staying at AKL next trip. The only resort I refuse to even consider in the future is the Beach Club. On our last trip I was resort hopping while the girls shopped in town. I stopped in front of the pool and asked where Beaches & Cream was. A British CM told me it was behind her but I was going to have to walk around because I might be there to pool hop. On the other hand later that day at AKL a CM invited me into the pool area to take pictures and then arranged for me to look in an empty savanna view room. And that kind of customer service is why we are staying there for 10 days in June.

There aren’t any I would refuse to stay at, but I won’t pay for a deluxe resort. Not enough benefit to justify the cost.

We did rent DVC points at the Poly for next spring though. The only reason is dd wanted to not share a bed with her sister and it is her 16th birthday trip. Still more than I would like to spend on a room, but our flights were covered by miles so that offset the cost.

If Values, Campground or Treehouses were only option, I literally would not go.
If desperate for a trip, SSR & Moderates 'might' be OK.

Started going to WDW when only Poly & Contemporary were there so hard to go backwards. Got very spoiled right from the beginning.

I don't think I'll ever stay at CBR again. It was too big and sprawled out, and I just didn't like the overall theming.
This!

I will never stay there again. Way too big. If we have to take a bus to get to the advertised theme pool, we aren't going to that pool. The construction also didn't help. The concierge desk was well hidden in a hotel room and the staff in it was less than accommodating until I told them I was going to write a letter to WDW to explain how non-customer oriented they were. Suddenly, they were jumping through hoops. It shouldn't have had to be that way.

I wouldn't refuse to stay at any of them. That being said, All Star Music is my least favorite because it is very spread out *and* I find the music theme to be pretty boring. I'm not a huge fan of POR for the spread-out same reason and the Alligator Bayou twisty-turny path theme. AofA is too freaking expensive for what you get and the Little Mermaid rooms are never discounted.

I wouldn't refuse to stay in any hotel at WDW, but my absolute last choice would be ASSp. That's not saying I would never stay there again though. As long as I'm at Disney! :)

To flat out refuse a stay, it would have to be the Camp sites, definitely not in that weather or in those downpours.

I only book rooms based on their pools (potential enjoyment for my kids) or the proximity to a park (walking distance, monorail or quick bus ride to the park).

Well, none I suppose. Not refuse anyway.
We don't camp so I guess you can say we refuse to stay there but we also can't stay where since we have no camping gear or camping ability
We won't have an entire stay at a Value resort but we will fly in late night and spend the night in one when needed. Doesn't even matter which one
I have a policy to try all of them at least once, and we have other than OKW. Got some I didn't care enough for to go back to but you know, with a remodel here, a good deal there, I'm known to change my mind.

I like that answer!
I have only stayed at a few Disney resorts and I do not care to stay at a value again, but maybe one day there will be the circumstances to check in into a value again, who knows

I never ever wanted to stay at the Poly but I gave it a try. Now it is my favourite! Those DVC rooms are really large and I liked the colour scheme.
