Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

What I would like to see at the new MK theatre is a proper stage show - some have mentioned the DL Aladdin show, and I would say something like that. I like Nemo and the old HoND show at DHS, too. Whatever property they use, something "musical theatre."

There is still one more thing that EPCOT really needs, so simple they could have it open this year, but it has been high on my wish list for years: dear Disney, can we ever please just get a QS kiosk in Canada for selling beer-cheese soup and pretzel bread?

In the explanation of the plans they had for Epcot, they said they were responding to what their customers were asking for. One of those things was to make Epcot "more Disney."

I hope you're joking...

Disney said the same thing years ago when they ditched the early morning park entry for hotel guests and replaced it with characters in the hotel lobby. This was because of guest surveys and requests according to Disney. This change didn't last long because of actual guest dissatisfaction after the change was made.

When did they do this? Sounds nutty to me! :)

NOT impressed with the whole "disney skyway" its more of crowding the sky. Why arent boats and buses good enough? Also a "minnievan" service? cmon....with that said....i hope the imagineers are cracking their knuckles with tron, GOTG, and Hollywood studios.
Also a star wars themed resort? meh....i like star wars but not enough to be sleeping in a resort themed for it. Same reason i dont stay at the contemporary, its too much like a hyatt or hilton

Any ideas when construction to Epcot's spine starts? I'm hoping it's not early September.

Direct quotes from marni1971 over at wdwmagic on a couple opening dates.

GOTG: Just incase anyone asks, and before other sites jump on it, this is currently projected to open spring 2021
Mickey: Before other sites jump on it and claim the credit, the Mickey ride is currently scheduled to open fall 2019

Gondolas are popping up in urban environments as a way to help alleviate congestion with public transportation. Buses and boats are nice but can sometimes be very slow means of transportation with big wait times to even get on them. Gondolas are nice because it's pretty much a constantly moving system with more direct paths, no stopping to pick up more passengers and no traffic.

WDW is a city. They need to move thousands of people at any given time and gondolas will help that. Buses can only do so much and boats are slow and expensive.

I'm not an expert in gondola systems, but I'd have to believe that maintenance will be minimal as compared to an aging and expanding bus fleet.

Really happy with most of these - to be honest just happy we are getting so much! But has anyone worked out if the people mover is safe? I love that little ride.

Ok, you say you don't like the SW concept because it's too heavily themed, and you don't like the CR because it's not themed enough -- and it's the same thing? :confused3
