Hi BC/YC friends!!!

I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I cannot believe it has already been over a month since the Princess Half Marathon. We stayed at BC and had the best time. The new CL lounge and rooms were awesome. It was wonderful to see Teena as well!

My DD and I are coming down in a few weeks for a quick trip and going to try out WL CL. Can't wait to be back in the world! I hope you are all well!:):)

We love the WL. I've heard lots of good things about their club level. I hope you enjoy it. :)

We might be at the BC at the same time you are at the WL. They are our two favorite resorts. :)

60 days til start of trip and 63 til first BC stay!! Killing time getting caught up (too many tornado watches/warnings in area to sleep right now)...love the "just back" reports.

Here now, overall great stay and loving BC like always. Wasn't thrilled at check in, I have a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 older children, and was given a room with no day bed at first (room assignment person, where did you expect our 5th member to sleep?), so they had to switch us, which for some reason took FOREVER, and we ended up with ground floor after I had requested a full balcony because they said that's all they had. Then they had to recode the magic bands which again took FOREVER. The CM was very polite about it, but it was by no means a smooth check in. Our room was not refurbished which isn't a big deal to me, but I can understand why they are doing refurbs, it's in rough shape to say the least. We've eaten twice at Hurricane Hannah's and it was yummy. For full capacity, the pool has been very comfortable crowd wise. I'm always hypnotized by the smell on the lobby, so lovely! Anyway, just a little report from beautiful BC while I lay awake listening to my family sleep! :-)

Just booked last minute vacation for myself and two of the kids 15-20 April. We are normally Loyal to the Poly but cheaper rate on Travelocity and the fear of Poly renovations pushed us to Beach Club this time. Kids are excited for Stormalong Bay and I am looking forward to finally comparing the two resorts prior to our normal January trip. Anything that is a not to miss?
Don't miss out on the fact that an easy 10 minute walk and you are in Epcot or a 20 minute walk or boat ride and you are in HS. One of the great things about the BC/YC. And for the adults in your group, be sure to order a Sunken Treasure at the bar at HH while you are enjoying the sunshine and SAB.

Hope you have a really great stay.

Hi all! Dee, I'm so sorry to add another change to the BOG list but our plans have changed. Our trip dates have changed and we've scaled down the cost of our trip. I dislike when reality gets in the way of my Disney trips! Anyway, we will be in the world July 15-24 and at BC July 15-17. We'll be at POR for the remaining days. Miraculously, BC had an opening for the first two days of our trip (and coincidently POR was unavailable those dates)! Yay! I'm thrilled to be staying at the BC again this year!

Not a problem! Glad you are able to get some BC in at the beginning of the trip. Enjoy some SAB for me!

:thumbsup2

I just snuck in to say IN 4 WEEKS TIME EXACTLY WE WILL BE ON THE MAGICAL EXPRESS TO THE YACHT CLUB!!! ONLY 4 WEEKS!!!!! :cool1:

That's all. As you were people, as you were

:woohoo:

Many thanks to Dee for the activities list! Enjoyed a wonderful stay at WL CL last weekend and looking forward to BC CL this weekend!

You are welcome! Have a blast!

:banana::banana::banana:

Does anyone have details about the ceramics activity? I'm thinking it is a pre-formed object that we paint, as it can be picked up the following day. I have not been able to find any information about price either.

I would love to hear more about this too. I think this activity is fairly new. First time I noticed it was in last month's activity page.

:)

Just jumping in on this thread as we just switched our room from Poly to BC for April 18-25th! So excited as we've stayed at BC 3 years ago and truly LOVED it! We haven't told the kids yet about our Disney trip. I cannot wait to see their reaction. :yay::yay::yay:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:goodvibes

We have been Poly regulars in the past who will be going to the YC for the 1st time this summer specifically for the pool and the location. Now I'm starting to get concerned about the QS options. We are a family with lots of kids, young to old, and having the flexibility of a food court is nice thing to have. After reading through the posts, I think the only true cafeteria style food court near the YC/BC is Picabu at the Dolphin and it's not DDP. Besides that, we can grab food at the BC marketplace, Huricane Hannahs, or the Boardwalk Bakery, and eat by the pool or in the room. Or we could enter Epcot and eat a QS in the Showcase. Has this been as issue for other families with kids or are there enough options to not make it much of an issue? Is it worth not being on DDP in order to utilize Picabu?

:welcome:

When is your trip this summer? Let me know if you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool2:

It sounds like you have done your homework about researching quick serve options. I think Hopefully's description below is pretty accurate.

We rarely eat at the resort, so I can't add my two cents about the offerings there, but one of my favorite things to do is to pop into EPCOT and get "take-out" from Sunshine Seasons, Tangierine Café, Japan or France and bring it back to the resort. The one thing we have found is that it is helpful to bring your own plastic bag if you will be carrying a lot of food back- the restaurants are not stocked with them. And once, they wouldn't let us take a crème brulee to go from France because it was too hot outside. :rotfl:

If you are looking for a "food court - fast food location" I think you will be disappointed. There is nothing like Cap'n Cooks at the Poly. I think the Beach Club Marketplace meets our needs, but it has way fewer options than cap'n Cooks

Thanks! :thumbsup2

After checking for the past few months, we FINALLY snagged availability at the Yacht Club and got our reservation switched! We are now in a garden view room at the YC, Nov. 11-21! So excited!
Hey Dee, any chance you could make the appropriate changes to the Be Our Guest list? :goodvibes

Wendy, I could hear you screaming all the way here!!!

:lmao:

Delighted to make the change.

What a great day! Finally feels like spring here in Connecticut, got our Mickey Mail today, and I got to start our countdown calendar (too bad it is hidden in my closet because this trip is a surprise!)View attachment 85670

I love your secret, hidden countdown calendar!

I have never done it, but don't forget the campfire on the beach or the outdoor movie if you are around at night. There are also several places you can see some of the Illuminations fireworks from around the resort. My favorite is from SAB.

I would love to read your thoughts comparing BC to Poly after your stay. Reviews like that are very helpful to people who may be familiar with one resort and not the other.

Really sorry to hear about your checkin experience. Did they notice the sleeping issue or did you have to point it out?

Hope the rest of your trip is magical!

I asked while checking in to make sure it had a day bed, kinda like a casual comment, when he said no I asked where they expected my 5 family member sleep, he shrugged his shoulders and said we are full capacity, which didn't really answer my question. I know they use roll away beds at times, but I didn't want that. Anyway, all is well, just disappointed about balcony.

Last stay at the Beach Club, we had a ground floor room, and really liked being able to sit on the patio with coffee in the AM and a glass of wine in the PM...it was nice seeing the little lizards scurry around. Yeah, sometimes people walked by, but our daughter and SIL were in the room next door and it was very convenient to just go back and forth using the patio (yes, we did have the door open between rooms too...) Ours did face the woods, though, and not gardens, pool, or other busy places.

Better than the Pope Balcony anyway (only room to stand and bless and wave at the crowds below... :)). We did make sure the patio door was locked before leaving our rooms for the parks.

I've had too many nights like that(I live in West TN)! I love the warm weather in the south, but unfortunately that can mean a lot of severe weather:( I hope everyone in your area is safe. It is supposed to get rough here later today. I guess I need to go count the number of days left until our vacation. My 5th grader has a lot of obstacles to overcome before that, so I'm trying to help her stay focused! Speech competition final round (I hope) is next week-ugh! I am so ready for vacation, but we still have 7 weeks of school left after Easter (and no more breaks)!!

On a plane right now and will soon land at MCO. Expect to be poolside by noon. We will be staying at the YC for 8 nights. It is our first stay at YC so all will be new to us. But if I can help answer any questions or look for information let me know.

I have really enjoyed checking this thread every day for the several weeks. Thanks to everyone who contributes.

Really excited for our stay.

Looking for a few suggestions from all you friendly people. My husband and I are going to be at the BC celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary from August 29th through September 2nd. This time the kids and grandkids will only be with us on the 29th and part of the 30th, so the rest of the time we will be by ourselves.
We plan on doing more snacking instead of big meals and checking out the lounges. We have dinner planned on our anniversary day at 'Ohana, my husbands pick but the rest of the meals are up for grabs. I plan on going to Martha's Vineyard, Crews Cup, Tune In Lounge, and Territory Lounge. Does anyone have an opinion on the best appetizer or specialty cocktail to get at these lounges?

What is your favorite snack or adult beverage to get at the World Showcase? I know I am getting a grey goose slushie in my refillable mug:)

Thanks for your help.

We love 'Ohana! If the time works out with your 'Ohana ADR, you could go to the lounge at California Grill at the top of the contemporary and get a Lemon Drop with a sugared rim glass! I don't think it's on the menu, but I have been ordering it for years. Unfortunately, the drink may vary depending on the bartender. I have never had a bad one at Cali Grill, but I had a bad one at Misner's at GF, or at least not a great one. The view from Cali Grill is amazing and not to be missed, but seating is hard to find sometimes. And you can ride the monorail from the Poly to CR pretty easily. If you could plan to watch the fireworks from Cali Grill lounge, it would be even better, but again, I don't know if that will work with your reservation. Seating is even more of an issue during fireworks, so allow plenty of time if you try this. They also have fantastic flatbread appetizers at Cali Grill.

Hellooo all my YC/BC friends :) I posted in the Club Level thread but figured somebody here might be able to help me out as well. We originally booked our stay for later this month using Orbitz for a GV room. I've been furiously stalking the Disney website for an AP discount for BC club level and yesterday was able to snag one, yay! I'm just a little worried about it being SV. I've read about some pretty bad (dumpster or all roof) SV rooms and was just wondering what people's experiences have been with the SV CL rooms. Is there anything I should request to get a better view? I did take a look at some of the room view photos on this thread, and they aren't so bad.. I have just heard some horror stories, so curious if there are specific rooms to avoid. Thanks guys! :)

That lemon drop sounds really good. Our reservation at 'Ohana is at 6pm. Wishes is at 10pm. We should have plenty of time to make it over there if we can still waddle after that meal. lol

Are you at Yacht or Beach? We had SV CL at BC and had view of the front entrance, some roofs, but also trees, the BCV's and Spaceship Earth. We liked it.

I edited my original post. Didn't even realize I forgot to add BC in there. Thanks for the info! :)

Anyone aware of an impact on 5/18-5/27? We have our honeymoon booked for that time and I have not received any letter about refurb activity.

Now that I know you are at BC, if you are interested I posted some pics of the views from our rooms on the view thread that Dee has created. She has links to it on the first page of this thread. Also in my signature I have a link that has pictures on page 2 of our room view at BC CL SV. Enjoy your trip.
