Any word on those great new member perks Ken mentioned at annual meeting?

i saw the ticket discounts, were there others? it looked to me like they planned to release them over the course of the year

Well perks don't translate to discounts per se. On the home page there is mention of additional trade in options through RCI and Disney Collection, some new really expensive tasting menu dining experience, and the new ticket discounts. Ken mentioned new dining, trade in and ticket perks at the annual meeting, so I am guessing this is it.

Once again, us west coast DLR DVC regulars get the short end. While almost better than nothing, if they wer going to do anything, why not make the discount on the AP w/o the blackout dates, which is what we usually get? Why have the discount on a lesser AP with blackout dates?

I wish it was the premium pass for DL too. We go 2-3 times per year and our trips include the DL half marathon weekend and 2 of those days are blocked out so we either need to buy block out tickets or the premium pass. Because we don't live nearby, sometimes we let our pass expire and start the next trip with park hoppers to get past the block out days and then upgrade.

Our passes expired in the middle of our Tinker Bell half weekend trip and since we have 2 trips to WDW planned this year we went with the Premier Pass and knew discounts were never offered for it in the past. I guess we were 2 weeks too early :-).

We don't go to WDW every year so we need to look at whether it's worth getting the voucher to use next year.

I would get a voucher for a discounted DL Premium pass in a heart beat.

Not impressed. I see they are up selling with intimate dining at $150 pp and up.

So just keep moving, nothing to see here.

I assume the $484 PAP is before taxes. Is that correct? I'm trying to compare them to the 9day MYWWPM ticket prices on allears, but those include taxes.

Dumb question but does this mean the regular WDW DVC AP is going away? I know it was usually about a $100 cheaper and now I don't see any mention of it. We don't need the premium and if the regular one is going away, I need to buy new vouchers now!

Add 6.5% sales tax to the $484 price.

The member savings on the regular AP is unchanged.

Great timing for us on the PAP discount! Like the spa upgrades, too, as we are frequent spa-ers.

A new DVC AP is $464 (plus 6.5% sales tax), renewal rate is $394 (plus 6.5% sales tax).

And if you don't do water parks, Disney Quest and Oak Trail, the $20 (plus tax) might be worthwhile.

You have to purchase the special discounted PAP between Feb 6 and April 30 and activate it no later than Jan 31, 2015. With the $399 one, you had three months to purchase and 15 months to activate.

Same here. December is our 1st DVC trip & with banking points we are going back Mardi Gras 2015. AP was going to be cost effective, but with the PAP new discount costing my family under $100 more vs regular/currant DVC AP price, why not? Weather might permit water parks February/March... New PAP price is fabulous & was considering Spa on Mardi Gras trip. This is great news. :cool1:

For most DVC members we can’t take advantage of the Annual Passes. A better Perk for DVC members would be discounts on multiday MYW tickets. We purchase 10 tickets with the non-expiring. It is more economical then Annual Passes for a large family and we can use them over a few years instead of having to buy more AP each year.

:confused3

Spa perks are nice.... a little extra here, a little bit there. I'll take it.

Many people who bought the $399 promo last time said they made more trips to take full advantage of it. I know the first time we bought AP's, my plan was to use it for a mid October trip one year and an early October trip the following year. We ended up adding an early December trip (since we didn't have to buy tickets) and I ended with an extra trip in March with friends. They tend to do that and that is what Disney is hoping for.

All of my friends who are members have AP's and we don't live in Florida.

The first year we had APs we spent something like 32 days at Disney before they expired, over 4 trips! And we live 900 miles away. I can't wait to get down there in April and buy APs again, we haven't had any for a few years.

I can tell you I purchased an annual pass and I had 4 planned trips over one year and 3 bonus days days due to a work trip. The annual pass discount definitely caused us to go more often. I love disney but I am ready for a break for awhile after my planned trips are completed.

They've discontinued the "non-expiring option" -- you can still use old tickets but can't purchase this option any more.
