Hi,

We are from the United Kingdom and have been over 3 times in the last 4 years. Our absolute most favourite ride and why is.....

Big Thunder Mountain, after near on 30yrs of not riding a roller coaster, & 3 visits to WDW...my daughter Hannah eventually talked me into B.T.M.

Not only that, We filmed it, and then Hannah (13 yrs) put this clip together.

What is your favourite moment & why ? do you have a picture, video or memory you would like to share....

My favorite moment would have to be what happened on a trip to AK in 2007. My best friend and I took a girls trip with our moms to celebrate our senior year of high school. We were also trying to get away from new orleans over Mardi Gras break since it was the first one since hurricane Katrina hit.

Well, to our surprise we just so happened to be at AK during Everest's soft opening. We rode the coaster with a minimal wait. After testing the ride, we wanted to convince our moms on the ride, however by this time a longer line had formed. So we used our FP to ride once more without our moms.

To our surprise, one of our moms talked to a CM during our ride, and was given a special set of FP so that we could all ride together. I will never forget how special we felt and how wonderful it was to ride all together.

It was a once in a lifetime experience. Especially since our moms promised us that they would never ride again.

My favorite memory was Christmas week of 1999. My two cousins and I were -just- old enough to split up from ours moms for a few hours in the parks. I think I was 14 and they were 12. We were in AK and it was my cousins fist time there. We hadn't yet ridden the safari and that was our sole goal of the morning. We got to the line and it was 140 min long-we were fully prepared to wait but that meant a phone call to my mom about meeting them 20 min late. She was having none of that and said if we didn't meet her at the proper time we wouldn't be allowed to split up again. We said ok, we won't ride it, maybe next time and hung up the phone. A VERY WONDERFUL CM overheard this entire conversation, came up to use took my cousin by the hand and led us though the cm entrance up the walk, bypassing the ENTIRE line and put us the first row of the first truck to pull up. We couldn't thank her enough!! and to TOP it off-she gave us a set of 7-yes 7, FP so we could bring our moms and my lil sis back, (after our proper meeting time that is!) so we could all ride together! 11 years later and I STILL talk about that every time I step foot into AK. The most MAGICAL thing ever!

Also had a similar experience the Christmas after mission space opened. Add a few years and my two cousins and I are now old enough to do entire parks by ourselves and head over to epcot to rise mission space. We it was awful over there! people everywhere and a line that was 2 hours long. Fully prepared to wait but couldn't even attempt to find the end of the line, we sought out an elderly CM who was speaking with another guest. This mother had 2 kids in tow and she was SCREAMING at this poor CM. He looked like he was near tears, and according to the mother of course it was all HIS fault for the wait and he should be able to do something about it. I felt like saying listen lady, your the one who came at christmas time! you have to expect long waits! but kept my mouth shut, and when she was finally done i felt the need to apologize to this poor old gentleman for that awful woman's behavior. And said that really we just needed to know where the end of the line was and even if he could point out the general direction we would be on our way. but he wasn't having that, he pulled out 3 FP that were good for right then and escorted us to the FP entrance. its really amazing what treating someone with respect can do!!

Great stories!

My favorite memory was January 2008 at the Pirate & Princess party. My Dh, DS, and DD went to ride BTMRR near closing time. There was no line so the CM ran us through the ride 4 times without getting off until par closing. My kids were squealing with joy each time we pulled into the station and he asked if we wanted to go again! Just a fun, innocent memory!

Ours are all interactions with Cast Members---usually characters or Streetmosphere. For example, there was the time Constance Purchase was flirting with me during a Dapper Dans set. My wife shouted out, "Back off sister, he's taken!" and the Dans literally cracked up mid-song. Then there was the time that my 7 year old son, with a mohawk hidden in a hoodie, ran into Ready Freddy Fiddlesticks and one of the Starlets. When Freddy took off his hood, his eyes opened wide and he shouted "HE'S GOT THE MANGE!" Even the photopass photographer lost it at that point.

Oh I have to share this! Once upon a time, OK in 1982, a young version of me was taken to the MK by my terrified to ride anything Mom. We made our way to Dumbo. :rotfl2: I of course knew what this ride was about. The devious girl in me kicked in and boy did Dumbo fly. I guess I should share that Mom can't climb higher than the second rung of a ladder. :rolleyes1. She thought the CM controlled it ( in fact I finally let her know last year when we were planning the kid's first trip). In the many years since, I razz her about it every time a Disney commercial with Dumbo airs. She promises to haunt me from her grave.

Thanks guys...keep sharing, those christmas stories hit the spot. We are thinking next year to come during the festive period.

:)

my fave moment was 2009 w/ my then 4 year old.. we just got to the castle when they had the show going on and all the princesses and princes were dancing.. my 4 year old asked if we could dance... while we were dancing i asked him if he was my prince and he said no that he was a pirate.... i asked if i could be a princess and he said no cause he loved me just the way i was,,lol..

I have 2 moments that are Disney Magic!!

The first one was on my first trip in 2002 with my Mom. We were in the town hall (the building where Tony's restaurant is) in MK. This was back when there was a gift/photo shop, a hallway, and then there was some exhibit back around the corner with Mickey movies. I don't quite remember what was back there. But there was a big empty hallway that was quiet between all this. We happened to be standing there and looking at the MK map and discussing where to go next. All of a sudden Winnie the Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger, and Piglet came up. They are Mom's favorite characters. They hugged her, made her laugh and stayed with her for over 10 minutes. I took pictures during the whole time and had tears streaming down my face at the pure little kid joy on Mom's face. (She was 67 at the time and neither of us had ever been there before.) It was amazing and I'm choked up right now just thinking about it. LOL!

:wizard:

The other moment was with my best friend about 5 years ago. We were there just for a day after a work conference had ended. We were on the Aladdin magic carpet ride and it was night time. There was hardly anyone riding rides as everyone was lined up for the parade and waiting for the fireworks. The CM running the ride let us and a few other kids ride over and over again. On the 4th ride around, the fireworks started and we all started cheering. My friend grabbed my arm and shouted "This is a Disney moment!" and we teared up. She is just as big a Disney fan as me. Then we started laughing. We still bring this up to this day and when we are stressed out, we say "We need some Disney magic moments like Aladdin's carpets right now!"

Can't wait to read other stories! What a great topic, OP! Thanks for posting it! :flower3:

We just got back last week. Our son Daniel got to steer the Jungle Cruise boat. He loved doing it. He even got to park/dock the boat at the end. I haven't had time to load those pictures or the video yet.

Got two, one was in 1973. The first time I came out of the train tunnel on to main street and took in the castle. Wow! The other was the first time we took our son to MK and we rode the barnstormer. :thumbsup2 Of Course every time we go is special.

:) In 2004 we had my FIL and DH's family go with us to WDW. My FIL had cancer and we knew it would be his last trip. We rented him a scooter and he had a blast. We were handling the scooter fine until he accidently bumped the table of china in England. Nothing happened but it was scary and we quickly left the store. After that, my BIL (6"2, 280#) and DH (5'9,250#) escorted him around the parks like a security detail with the sunglasses and serious looks. FIL's code name : Nemo. We will never forget having my BIL call DH from the gate, stating " Nemo has left the reef (bus), I repeat, Nemo has left the reef". We joined them so DH could pick up the detail with BIL and off they went. My DH got a picture of him, his brother and Dad in that mode on Sunset Blvd in DHS in 2004...from his Mom this year for his birthday. BIL has the photo too. I dont have a copy to post--but it is classic and our favorite memory. Nemo is very special to us.

My favorite Disney moment had to have been on our most recent trip last October/November. I have been to WDW multiple times with my parents, but this was the first trip with my DH and DD. I had become a Disney fanatic very early-on in life, and was SUPER excited for my own little family to finally be going together. During Wishes, I was standing next to DH, who had DD on his shoulders. The look of total amazement on her face was enough to completely send me over the edge. I started bawling!!! It was such a special time.

my favorite moment is when my mother and i were at the pirate party that was going on in MK a year or 2 ago. We were about to ride pirates of the caribbean and went down the entrance way, in the middle of the hallway there was jack Sparrow and another pirate standing like statues, then when we said we knew they were real they ran (with high knees) down the hallway and up into a cast member only area. It was so much fun, seeing as me and my mom were the only people there.

in 2005, it was my 2 dds first trip to DW. We were in the rose garden in France behind the library, and the Beast came out. He gave my oldest daughter (5 at the time) a rose out of the garden, and danced with her. The next day at HS, we were watching the Beauty and the Beast show, and when the Beast turned back to the prince at the end, she started crying hysterically. She kept saying the she wanted the Beast back.

It was soooooo cute!:goodvibes

My favorite moment was in Oct 07. I had been to WDW twice as a kid in 74 and in 80, I know old man. In 07, this was the first time I had been back since 80 and as a hubby and dad with those who had never been when we hit the tunnel at MK and walked into the courtyard and saw the castle and getting to see the look on my DD(8) and DS(5) at the time. I had tears in my eyes literally. We have been back three times since and are going this Feb. I had not felt like a kid in a long time and that view brought back my magic.

A close second was last Oct we took my parents and my wife took a great pic of me, the rents and the kids walking toward the castle. Life comes full circle. Good times, good times.

My Magical memory came on our first ever trip to Disney and has officially converted our family to Disney addicts.

My DW and I took our two DS 6, and 2 for our first ever family trip. On our first night we go to MK. We walk in under the train station and see the castle for the first time and my DS 6 stops and turns with tears in his eyes and says to me with a big hug "this place really is magical. I am the luckyest kid in the world. Thanks Dad."

Well needless to say my DW and I eyes filled with tears and started our best vacation ever.

One time I was waiting in DHS at the Animation Academy for the next class, and I started talking to the CM who was here, showing him a few of the pictures I had already drawn. He asks me "You're going to be here a while, huh." "Yup!" "Well, I'll g find you some rubber bands, be right back." "Oh cool, thanks." When he comes back, he has rubber bands and a few sheets of paper rolled up. He says to me "I was able to steal- I mean borrow- some of the artist's drawings! *hands them to me* Don't look at them until you get home. Well, wait an hour. Fine, I know you can't wait that long, just open them now." "You already know me so well!" I unroll them and they are amazing drawings of Carl Fredricksen and Jiminy Cricket. During the class, he even runs in and gives me a picture of Dug, following by putting his finger up to his mouth nd 'Shhhhh'-ing me. :)
Also, when the random characters showed up (the ones on non-fantasmic days at 5:00, ones other than Sorceror Mickey, etc.) he helped me figure out if I had enough time to wait in line for the character.
Obviously, we then went to Guest Services and told them how awesome he was.

Confession guys and dolls...

I have a second if I am honest, we went from B.T.M to Rockin Roller Coaster. later that same night ..........what an thrill....the memories being shared are like being there all over again.

What was your first ever Disney ride ?

Two years ago we went in sept, my then 5 year old princess was thrilled with just to be there. We were at rope drop @ MK and proceeded through the tunnel and entered the main plaza. While at the hat shop next to Tony's we noticed Mary Poppins and Bert come out from behind the shops. My princess has seen that movie at least 100 times so we quickly handed her autograph book and she headed over with a smile on her face.

Well the smile faded when Mary Poppins stated to her that she was not signing autographs right now. She then stated that she and Bert her going for a stroll and would my daughter like to walk with them. For the next five minutes she walked in between Bert and MP holding hands with each. They walked her all around the main plaza and talked with her about what she had done and what her plans were for the day.

The walk ended with hugs and a bow from Bert, without a doubt far above anything I could have hoped for.

Thanks Disney!!!!!!
