which DTD resorts are good/decent?

I'm trying to get a ressie for July 14-18th. Since this is a last minute trip we would really like to stay somewhere in the "value" price range. I've never stayed at any of the DTD hotels and I was just wondering if they are as nice as the hotels on "disney property"? I know i'm seeing some rates of around $96 a night for the grovesnor. I'm pretty apprehensive since i keep reading mixed reviews on it. Has anyone stayed there recently??
