Oh, it's a problem. I've been back in the office since October and have been looking for a some new things. I talk to the store workers every time I go shopping. The stores made a conscious decision to pull office attire off the shelves because no one was buying it but they said they are making the change to get it back into stores, but it's coming slowly. The best success I've had is the Ann Taylor Factory store which is near my house: many styles of dress pants, dressy "leggings", dresses, skirts, etc. They seem to be getting stuff in waves so I'll go in once and it will be full, people will buy it up, and then it's spare for a bit. Banana Republic Factory store has been much slower but it's starting. The regular Ann Taylor and Banana Republic seem to have more but I generally don't buy from them unless I've got a coupon or something because they can be pricey. I've had good luck ONLINE with Nordstrom Rack for dresses and shoes. I have to return a lot but it's really close to my house so not a problem.
Now if you shop at some place like Kohl's, they are pretty tragic. Nothing. I will usually buy one or two pieces a year from them--a jacket or a layering sweater but they've got nothing related to office attire.
