I totally agree with the article.
Thank you Stephen Porter, June 24, 2015, for writing it.

Also balloons are not allowed at the AK resort, in AK and on an airplane (unless deflated and packed in your suitcase)

We also love WDW coffee mugs and WDW ride themed (love the Splash Mt one) beach towels to bring home.
Both items are used everyday!

Ditto on bringing home Disney Christmas ornaments - we even bring some home as gifts to friends.

Anyone else have a favorite practical item to bring home from WDW, to add to the list, which was not mentioned in the article?

I bought a set of four plastic tumblrs on our last trip and they still get used every day. Also the giant coffee mug I bought in 2010 that still gets used several times a week. I try to buy household items that will get used. I want to get plates next time.

DD wanted a balloon, and as they are supposed to help keep the a/c sensors confused, and a/c on - we bought one... then she googled... and it is very easy to get them re-inflated at a Party City. I just thought, box it up! ;) She wants to give it to someone checking in when we leave. All these years, and its the first balloon we've ever gotten. I like it!

Our souvenirs have been wine glasses, the Mickey Shaped Wine stoppers. Jewelry (from England shops, they have some nice sterling silver necklaces, claddaugh rings) and magnets!

I'm going to turn 41 years old on our next trip and darn it, I'm buying myself a balloon. I will keep it in my room and then give it to a child as I'm checking out.
The other thing I forgot is photo frames. I love buying photo frames and photo albums on trips.

We have mugs, kitchen towels, a spoon rest and other things, but my favorite is the Minnie Mouse back scratcher I bought on our first trip in 1994. Still works perfectly after all these years! :thumbsup2

I love buying the home ware, I have several of the cushions, kitchen accessories, mugs and tumblers. I like to get a different glass engraved tumbler each trip. Also love the Christmas decorations and the jewelry. For me all worthwhile souvenirs :)

I love my blue Magic Kingdom furry blanket. I got it with 1 of those specials, spend $50ish and buy blanket for $20ish. It's holding up real well.
But Disney World blankets aren't all the same quality. I bought those tan twin sized castle blankets for $50 each. The 1st wash they came out looking horrible. The directions say do not put in dryer, made of rayon or something similar.

My DD also has a Mickey Mouse back scratcher too!
Yes got it when she was 9 and is now 19!
We have this but it wasn't sharp enough. It's like scratching an itch with your knuckles.
We duct taped a comb to the Mickeys hand. Now it's kinda too sharp.

I agreed with the light up toys until my recent Disney On Ice show. The light up spinning Princess thing costs over $25 there and I think it was about $15-17 in WDW. Planning to pick one up on my next trip.

I love those Mickey gummies especially when it was less than $3 a bag. I don't buy as much now because the price is a lot higher. Also, the tin mints are quite good as well. I also like to pick up a bag of Mickey Pretzels for my girl's class.

Balloons are allowed at AKL now, still not allowed in the park.

Ah, the balloons. My daughter bought one on our last trip and loved having it in the room. Sadly, the last time we saw it was on the ceiling of the Orlando airport. We knew we weren't going to be able to take it on the plane anyway, but it was a bit of a bummer when it escaped before we boarded.

My favorite souvenir is a baseball-style cap that I wear all summer, every summer. I have my keys on a CBR fob and a Mickey head on my car bumper. I also love my WDW beach towel. We can't afford to go back for at least a couple of years so I like having little bits of Disney in my daily life.

I have a Disney 2013 ornament to commemorate our last trip and I plan on letting each of my kids pick out an ornament from the Christmas shop this upcoming trip.

I really want a mug (or maybe a few) for my tea.

We also plan on doing pick a pearl as a souvenir.

I plan on letting my kids pick whatever they want as long as they stick to their budget, no matter how wasteful, as long as it will make them happy.

Another vote for Christmas ornaments!

I also have a favourite mug that I bought last trip that reminds me of the trip every time I have my coffee in it.

We've got more Disney t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies than we know what to do with, and enough ornaments to warrant their own tree. But my favourite is my Mickey Mouse watch. It has the classic face - I bought it many years ago and it is still my every day watch.

DS picked out a pair of mickey head sunglasses at AK last year and he wears them every sunny day. They get more use than any of the plush we picked up for sure.
