Although it is a good idea to be able to check-in on your smart phone, might that lead to people checking in who are still quite a ways off from the restaurant?

Although it is a good idea to be able to check-in on your smart phone, might that lead to people checking in who are still quite a ways off from the restaurant?

Given that this has been in effect for couple of years, I guess that hasn't been a problem. There's usually a wait between checking in and being called because your table is ready.
