Hi All

Looking for advice /tips and experiences of travelling to florida with Virgin Atlantic when you have babies.

We will be travelling with our 8 month old twins in January and feeling very nervous about it now!!

Thanks

Our friends did a few years ago. The cabin crew are very accommodating. I am guessing your twins will be just over a year by then. So they can have their own seat and sit on your lap during take off and landing. You'd probably get a row of four for your family which should give you plenty of space :)

My son was 9 months the first time we travelled to Florida on Virgin. He's 15 now and so things have probably changed a bit. We did get bulk head seats and had the crib thing that they provide for the large drop down table. He was a big baby so only just fit lying down but it was a good place for him to sit up in, played with his toys in it and it kept it all relatively contained! Now it was a quiet flight which helped and we had the cabin crew popping by to see if we were okay and interacting with him to keep him occupied too.

This will be harder with twins but try and minimize how much you have in your bag on the flight as juggling the babies, the bag, the paperwork etc., etc., etc., makes for a tired and cranky set of parents which ultimately affects the little ones. Easier said than done I know but the calmer you are the easier this will be.

Good luck, I'm sure you will be fine and you will all have some lovely family memories to cherish.

All I can say is Skycot. If you haven't already requested this its a must.
They should hopefully sleep most the way!

Skycot! that's the name of the crib thing that you can use. I had totally forgotten it's name. Yes, definitely see if you can book 2 of them.

We flew Virgin with our 3 month old Granddaughter. It was a lot easier than we had anticipated! The cabin crew were excellent! We booked a sky cot on the way out, but weren't able to have one coming back because they need the bulk head seats for other passengers. I don't know how big your babies are, but I seem to remember that the sky cots were not very big. We're taking her again in Oct and she'll be 2.5, I'm expecting this trip to be a lot harder! Are you taking car seats and strollers?

One frustrating thing we have found with sky cots is you can't book seats and its on first come first served basis.

Probably not a problem if in economy but bit frustrating on our way back in premium economy. Most seats are booked up so likely to be split up, which isn't ideal for us or other passengers. Added layer of stress if you want to Boole seats and can't

And it's strange as you can book seats for sky cots with BA I believe so it's virgin policy
