They will cancel our ADR for 6:55pm??

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but trying to figure this out. Anyone have any recent experience on setting an ADR close to close on a MK party date? Is there an actual cutoff prior to 7pm? (i.e. last reservation at 6:30, 6:45, etc.)? Do you get a private escort out after you're done?

The goal here would be to maximize the normal park hours (until close at 7), eat dinner, then leave.

Thanks!

This year there is a hard cut off appears to be 6:20. There are multiple warnings during booking and confirmation.

Great, does this happen to be written down somewhere?

Currently there's a warning when you do your booking saying that you need a ticket for your ADR.

From what I can gather the last booking without requiring a ticket for BOG is 6:15pm, and for CRT is 5:55pm.

But just read the text carefully when you do your booking and you'll be fine.

Ok, so basically we try a few times and if the warning pops up, that's past the point and you'll need a ticket. Or the same calling a CM.

I guess I was wondering if there's an official Disney policy stance on the thresholds displayed somewhere on a Disney site (as opposed to only seeing the warning if you attempt break it).

Yes, basically.

Three places they're saying it. They seem to mean it.

As PP showed through the imagines the restaurant times now say 6:20-10 (or whatever) are listed as Special Event. So before you book the restaurant hours should reflect what is a special event time and what is a regular operating time.

Exactly.

1. Dining Hours are differentiated between "Dinner" and "Dinner - Special Ticketed Event."

2. When you book the ADR, they say in two places that you will need a party ticket for your time.

3. You then have to AGREE to T&C that also mention hard ticket/party ticket requirements.

Given this, I don't think anyone will have a solid argument that "I didn't know!" or should have any expectation of special exception.

On the front page of the restaurant's dining reservation page it will tell you the times for the meal services. On a party night it says "Special Ticketed Event" under the Dinner hours so that is your first indication. From there as you continue to make the reservation it will go into more detail (see Auroraborealis' post #46) and you have to agree to the terms & conditions before you can make the reservation.

I am not sure what you mean by "official Disney policy stance" vs "only seeing the warning." There is plenty of warning, but there is nothing set up to actually stop you from making the reservation, but you will not be seated at the restaurant when you try to check in.

Official Disney policy stance as what's being shown in the front page of the restaurant's dining reservation page - for that night, vs only seeing it if you go through the workflow of actually making the reservation and only then first seeing the warning, which even then, didn't confirm the actual cutoff, only that the one you are currently trying would or would not require the hard ticket.

So year, the former, confirmed with hard dates, it's there, all is right with the world.

Just got off the phone and I had asked to speak with a Manager at CRT. I explained the whole situation. That we were only able to book a 6:55pm dinner on a night that there is MVMCP and that we were worried about the ADR being cxld or being told we would need to purchase tickets for MVMCP since we would not have them.

She said not to worry. The cutoff is 6:59pm for dinner because MVMCP starts at 7pm so anything 7pm or later would require the extra tickets. I am so relieved and glad I called!:cool1: I asked her to put those remarks into my reservation and got her name.

I really appreciate all the input I received from everyone and hopefully others that are in the same boat (or park haha) can now feel comfortable with their ressies.
:goodvibes

The cast member you talked to was wrong. They changed the policy last year, I believe, because people were trying to stay late for the party without paying by getting late ADRs.

Here is what the dining reservation page looks like for Be Our Guest on a MNSSHP night (October 31) right now:

As you can see, without a ticket, your latest reservation can be 6:15pm. You can only book after that if you have a ticket to the MNSSHP. Some other restaurants cut off even before 6:15.

On the day we are going to MK, but not staying for the party, we are having dinner at Ohana. That way we can maximize park time and then have a great dinner after the park closes to non-guests.

I guess at the end, it'll be up to the CM whether to let you in or not, regardless of what the rules are. If the manager of CRT says it's ok to let you in, then there's nothing to stop them stopping you to dine in the restaurant.

Would I risk it myself, probably not, just in case.

It will be very interesting to see when the party starts in September and how the situation will be handled.

The manager probably won't let you in. With MDE existing now I imagine Disney will cancel reservations either when the party sells out or call and give you the chance to add the ticket or risk losing the reservation. That happened to several people last year. They were called about 2 weeks prior to their trip and told either buy a ticket or we are cancelling this reservation.

Wahahaha, I'd just realised something, I was quoting a post that was like 6 years ago about calling the manager of CRT and being allowed to enter at 6:55pm.

I must be going crazy :)

Everybody, ignore what is said in this post, don't go in without a ticket pass 6:15pm at BOG or 5:55pm at CRT

Disney has changed things up, and that is not going to work for you starting this year. Part of it was probably the manpower needed to keep escorting people out, and having people trying to get away from the CMs. It is also probably in part because they are trying to empty the park out a little bit more, as there were so many complaints last year about how crowded the parties were. Add in the price increase, and hopefully that will fix that problem.

UGH - so glad you guys dug this post up! Last year we had no trouble with 6:45 ressies. Had one at CRT on a party night. Had no problem being escorted out - it was just the time that worked for us and allowed us to maximize our park time. We have attended the parties before and didnt need to do it again. When our dinner was over, we walked out of the park in our own accord around 7:50. We didn't even get an escort of shame (we asked if we needed one!). We had no intention of lingering or shopping and we just proceeded to the exit.

Just this week we booked a 6:50 ADR at BOG planning to do the same thing! Guess I didn't notice the fine print adjustment on the ADR. That stinks!

I nearly did the same as well, booked a BOG for 6:30pm, rushed through the booking as I want to book it before someone else snaps it up, didn't read the message about needing a ticket, luckily while I was posting on this forum that BOG ADRs has opened beyond 6pm, someone replied to my post saying about the thing about the ticket, and I was early enough to adjust my booking to 6:10pm

this thread is from 2010! closing, please feel free to start a fresh thread :)
