Just got this in the mail... any thoughts?

Dear Disney Vacation Club Member(s),

As our records indicate that you have used a Disney Gift Card to make dues payments for your ownership interest at a Disney Vacation Club Resort in the past two years, we wanted to let you know that, effective November 30, 2015, a maximum of five Disney Gift Cards may be used for a dues payment. This change in policy is designed to help us process payments and serve the Member community more efficiently.

Note, however, that Disney Gift Card Services has introduced a new tool that allows you to combine multiple small-value Disney Gift Cards into one card. Doing so before contacting Member Accounting to make your payment will allow you to get the most out of your Disney Gift Cards when paying dues. Instructions for using this new tool are enclosed for your convenience.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Member Accounting at (800) 800-9800 or (407) 566-3800 option #3 on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern. All of us at Disney Vacation Club thank you for being part of our Member community, and we look forward to welcoming you home again soon.

Best regards,

Disney Vacation Club

Go to DisneyGiftCard.com and login at the top right corner.

If you do not currently have a login, you will need to set one up by clicking ‘Get Started’.

Complete the required fields and click ‘Create Account’.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you used to create your account. The e-mail will contain a confirmation number that you will need to copy and paste into the screen that appears after clicking ‘Create
Account’.

After creating your account, login by navigating to the ‘Login’ link at the top right of the home page, or by clicking ‘Manage Cards’ then select either the ‘My Cards’ or ‘Transfer Balance’ links.

The ‘My Cards’ page will allow you to manage up to 5 Disney Gift Cards.
· You will be able to view your current balance and transfer balances from one Disney Gift Card to another.
· You can give your Disney Gift Card a nickname and enter the gift card number and security code in the fields located on the left of the screen and click ‘Add Card’.
·NOTE: Disney Gift Cards can only have a maximum value of $1,000. In addition, deleting a Disney Gift Card from your ‘My Cards’ list does not affect the value on the gift card.

Alternatively, if you simply want to transfer a balance to another Disney Gift Card without saving it to your ‘My Cards’, navigate to ‘Transfer Balance’ as previously noted above. From the Transfer Balance page, fill in the fields on the left of
the screen and click ‘Continue’. You must have at least one card in your ‘My Cards’ onto which to transfer a balance. You will be prompted to add a card here if you do not currently have a card saved.

You can review the transaction on the next screen.

· You can see the balance on both the Disney Gift Card that you are transferring FROM as well as the Disney Gift Card you are transferring TO.

· The combined gift card balance will also appear on the bottom right.

·If everything is correct, click ‘Transfer Balance’ to complete the transfer.

A confirmation message will let you know the transfer was successful. You can return to your ‘My Cards’ or continue transferring balances by clicking on ‘Transfer Another’ where you will repeat the steps listed above.

Makes sense, rather than having them enter a bunch of cards. If you have $1,500 in dues, that would be 30 $50 cards, it takes a lot of time.

Yup, someone else posted about it, too. Not really a big deal since the website started allowing you to combine gift cards.

I received an email as well as the mailing today. I think it is great. Should take just a minute to combine ouselves then a quick call to MS. Would rather this than not being able to use GCs at all. I like saving the money buying them at Sams/bjs as well as getting rewards points paying for cards on Disney Visa.

For those that have used the Disney Gift Card Services new tool, what is the maximum dollar amount you can combine into one card?

You can have up to 5 cards and 1k each card for each account.

It's pretty easy ;)

The good thing? Member services only takes 2 cards for AP payment. This helps!!

I combined 5 $100 cards, it was very easy. My local grocery chain (Giant Eagle) is offering a $10 grocery coupon for every $100 in retailer gift card purchases. I plan to buy more to have enough to pay my dues. Also get fuel perks, plus I used my SW Visa!

I got an email + 2 mailings.

I found the printed instructions a bit much though. Talk about a waste of paper and ink.

I think if processing them was taking up resources to do this, then this was a much needed change.

Could you pay with a gift card online before or did you have to call MS for gift card payments?

Nope. The online system only accepts one major credit card.

You need to call Member Accounting to pay dues using anything other than a single major credit card.

Bumping up this thread, since it has a wealth of information on saving money by using GC and combining them.
The dues are now posted online, and due date for "all" accounts (regardless of use year) is Jan 15.
I see "about" a 5% increase in HH and SSR. Can others also respond with their increases (or if those increases are posted anywhere?)

DVCNews has the increases calculated although I know there was a thread here too:

Is that a different number than member services?

Can you use the Disney vacation account to pay the dues?
