Cast: Me, The Tramp and my DW of 25 years, Lady
Objective: To celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary with a leisurely vacation in Orlando
Day 7, 12/7: We awoke and had a wonderful breakfast at the Trattoria Del Porto. We highly recommend this PBH restaurant; the food was excellent. A short boat ride later and we were at USF. One perk you get while staying at PBH is all day FOTL access. We arrived for early opening and headed right for Men In Black. I think we rode this one about 4 times before walking over to Back to the Future. MIB is like Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin but with more action; and, you compete against a group in another car. BttF was too jerky for us, especially my DW; in fact, it was so jerky it wasn't enjoyable. Kongfrontation was pretty good; Twister was excellent; Earthquake wasn't quite what I thought it would be but it was good; and, Jaws was down for renovation. We really enjoyed Animal Actors, since we trained our dogs for search and rescue. I also thought Terminator 2 - 3D was excellent! Other attractions we enjoyed were: Alfred Hitchcock - the Art of Making Movies, the Gory, Gruesome and Grotesque Horror Make-up Show, Lucy -a Tribute, the ET Adventure and Beetlejuice's Rock n Roll Graveyard Revue. We at lunch at Mel's Drive-in (which has a great theme but the food is nothing to write home about) and had a nice banana split at Schwab's Pharmacy (just like in the 50's). Just before dark, we decided to park hop over to IOA for Jurassic Park. (A friend had suggested we do this one in the dark, if possible.) This is an excellent water ride, not to be missed. On our way out of the park, we phoned home to remind the kids to pick us up at the airport the next evening and were told there was a surprise awaiting us in our room! It turned out to be a beautiful but large floral arrangement which presented us with a dilemma: how to get it home? PBH's "Star Services" took care of that for us with no problem. They managed to get it to "fold up" inside a plastic bag and they slid it into a box with a handle. When we flew home, we carried it onto the plane and it looked like new when we took it out of the box!
Our next stop, Islands of Adventure!
Disneyland 1970
Off site 6/90
Dixie Landings 9/99
Coronado Springs 12/1-12/5 and Portofino Bay 12/6-12/8
