Objective: To celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary with a leisurely vacation in Orlando

Day 6, 12/6: The morning of our final day at WDW arrived, too quickly. We packed and decided to have breakfast during our Christmas resort tour. Our first stop was the Grand Floridian and breakfast at the GF Cafe. This resort was tastefully decorated and the breakfast was very good. We hopped the monorail and toured the Polynesian, which didn't seem to have a lot of decorations. We didn't notice a lot of decorations at the Contemporary, either. We took the the boat to the WL and once again, were in awe when we walked into the lobby. This one has to be seen; words can't do it justice. We felt this resort had the only Christmas decorations nicer than those at CSR. We also stopped at DxL (I managed to find a pin there for this resort; we stayed there in 1999) and PO which we thought was very nice. I guess this will soon become the French Quarter when the two resorts combine to become PO, and we have already decided to try to stay there during our next trip. With our tour completed, we traveled to DTD and some last minute shopping. That done, we hit the highway for USF and the Portofino Bay Hotel. This resort is something to see. It is modeled after a harbor town in Italy and we were told that it looks identical to the town. It's hard to believe, when looking at photos, that it is a hotel. We shared a cob salad for lunch at the Trattoria del Porto while waiting for our room to be prepared and walked around the resort. Our room was on the 4th floor of the east guest wing; a Deluxe Garden View with king-size bed. The room was very nice but the view wasn't much to speak of. We could not get a complimentary upgrade with our Loew's First Club because it was completely booked; we did get a complimentary fresh dish, though. After unpacking, we took the shuttle boat for the ride to City Walk and had dinner at the NASCAR Cafe. I thought the food was great but the DW thought it was too spicy. Guys, get the Smokey Mountain Ribs! After touring City Walk, we took the boat back to PBH to rest up for our next 2 days in the parks. The amenities in the room included: hair dryer, bathroom scale, coffee/coffee maker, iron/ironing board, 2 bathrobes, free HBO and a bunch of movies that could be purchased for around $9.99 each. The staff was very courteous and helpful during our stay. Next stop, Universal Studios Florida!
