dmil (now a grand 87 years young) still loves her food-however the size of her appetite has most definitely decreased recently.
I think some children's meals may still be too large a portion size-so I was thinking if we had a selection of protein enriched appetisers she wouldn't feel overwhelmed by the plates.

Mind you-I've noticed her sweet tooth hasn't waned much-so that's not an issue!!

Any suggestions?

It really depends on the restaurant you choose. Any will cater to your MIL, you just need to share her needs. It may be less about the menu, and more about where you want to dine. Once you narrow that down, you can work with the chef to tailor. Enjoy!

Citricos cheese platter is fabulous! As a matter of fact it is the best meal we have had at WDW!! Service was fantastic as well!

It really depends too on what her definition of spicy is. There's hot pepper spicy and well, spice spicy. It helps if you can choose a place to eat, go over the menu, and talk to the chef about what you're looking for.

I believe anything with a bit of a twist would probably be described as spicy by dmil.

Eg: we took her out for brunch last week - scrambled eggs on toast...
Simple enough one would think however-
Eggs were 'oily'
The chives in the eggs were 'spicy'
The toast had a 'funny taste'-it was sourdough bread & she's ate that before ?! & it was totally immersed in butter

I think it'll be easier for you then to just speak to the chef whenever you get to where you guys want to go.
