Staying onsite but not going to the parks

To me it sounds like your kids would really like Univ this trip and Cabana Bay looks adorable. If you stay at Cabana Bay, even with airport transportation and the extra cost for the park to park, you end up comparable to the Disney moderate cost.

However, if you opt for Disney, look at cheap tickets dot com. Your Disney hotel choices are eligible for an extra 16% off with the TAKE16 promo code. It looks like CB doesn't qualify for this.

We have found going to WDW and staying at POP, getting one of their promotional rates, is less that many of the moderately priced hotels like Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn in other cities. We are able to enjoy free transportation all over Disney World and have found many reasonably priced places to eat (Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, Contempo, ESPN, lots of resort restaurants/food courts). When we compare going to a different location/city/cruise, the costs add up quickly --transportation/parking/staying in a safe location in a decent hotel/ entrance fees to museums and attractions..still all relatively expensive and many times more oriented to one age group or another (WDW has overall appeal to all age groups). We have made several trips to WDW without going into the parks and feel that the no-park trips have been fun with lots to see and do and have not spent an excessive amount of money. It's easy place to visit - and there is value in that:)

Do they still have the marshmallow roast sing along with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness? That was really fun, and was free if I remember correctly.....
