Had anyone stayed here recently? I know we would have to take ART and we stayed at Park Vue Inn last trip but we could save a lot of money staying here, you don't hear much about it on the boards just wondering if anyone had any recent experiences here.

I have been considering it as well. Here is a recent review by a blogger who I follow on a regular basis. He has stayed at many of the neighboring hotels: http://www.disneytouristblog.com/stanford-inn-suites-review/ He gives it a pretty good review (and rates PVI as the #1 hotel near DLR).

If you don't want to take ART, I think it would be possible to walk up a block and catch the shuttle from the Toy Story lot.

We LOVED PVI the breakfast was great free parking and can't beat the location but if this one is just as good and seems like possibly a little more room and cheaper we may change!!

I stayed here in December 2014 and liked it just fine! Continental breakfast was nothing to write home about but you could at least grab a snack on the way into the park, and we used the ART station right next door to the hotel and only had about a 10 minute ride to the parks.

The room also had Disney decorations which was something we weren't expecting! Definitely feel like you get a decent stay for the rates they charge.

That's me--thanks for the shout out!

As for Stanford Inn v. Park Vue Inn, while I was really pleasantly surprised by the Stanford Inn, a big part of that was due to expectations. Its curb appeal is pretty bad, and the adjacent businesses are sketchy. The overall experience, especially that short walk, makes Park Vue Inn a lot better. I'd certainly pay a premium for Park Vue Inn.

Also, while it hasn't been the case this summer (probably since it's tourist season--rates have spiked), normally, Hotel Tonight has Park Vue Inn in the $90-120 range, which is a great price for it, IMO.

I have more on that and other hotels in my Disneyland Area Hotel Reviews and Rankings post.

Me me me! You really don't hear anything about this place on the boards so I was worried when we went. I was happy with it. We stayed for two weeks in Jan/Feb of this year.

It IS walkable to the parks if you don't have little walkers in tow. If all of yours are older or can fit in strollers, you're fine. But it's a pretty long haul for those kids in the middle. You can always cut your time in half and walk to and from Toy Story, but I recommend the ART passes anyway.

Pluses about this hotel:
-Loved the breakfast. It was nothing fantastic, but it covers your bases. I made PB&Js for breakfast most days, and occasionally had waffles (which were GREAT!). They have enough supplies to throw together a pretty decent breakfast for all the varied tastes a family has.

-Great pool, my family loved it.

-Price was outstanding

-Good walking distance to a number of places, including Target and a lot of restaurants.

-Room was decently clean and spacious enough. We got the 2 room suite with 2 bathrooms.

-Wifi was good!

-Fridge and microwave were great, glad to have those in the room.

-Queen beds were soft.

The bad:
-Kids beds were pretty firm, and that's not what I like in a bed. I slept on a bunk. It was made better by asking for an extra blanket and shoving it under the fitted sheet, though. Not as nice as my squishy-soft Sealy at home, but I didn't expect it to be :)

-Floors were the worst part of the hotel. They were dirty and clearly not renovated when the rest of the hotel was updated. There are some worn down 'dips' in the floor and if you walk around barefoot long enough you'll get marks on your feet from the carpets. Wear a pair of spa slippers inside.

-Some of the walls are very thin. Every hotel full of kids is going to be loud, though. Come prepared with earplugs if you're going in peak season.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The price was right.

We stayed here in January 2014 and liked it. We are far from Hotel snobs. Really only looking for a bed & shower. The breakfast is a little above your standard motel breakfast - cereal, donuts, instant oatmeal, make your own waffle, fruit, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate (instant). Room was good sized, clean. There as a small work out room that looked to be in good order. The biggest down side is that it is not walkable, so you either have to take ART or drive to the Toy Story lot (which is what we did). I would stay here again.

I have been reading your stuff, and have downloaded the Hotel Tonight app, i do have a question about it though...would qe be able to book for 12 nights at a time when we use it?

I don't believe you can book that long via the app. If you can't, make sure to have a backup reservation elsewhere that you can cancel.
