Resort Availability Tool Showing Wrong Points Totals

The resort availability tool on the member's website is currently showing the wrong points totals when one checks for availability. It's a known issue and they're working on it, I was told.

I noticed this yesterday. It was overstating the required points for an OKW GV next January. I modeled the same thing in the reservation tool and that was correct - so it appears it is ONLY an issue with the Availability tool.

The availability tool also has been showing the incorrect availability.... I have to go to the reservation page and try different resorts to figure out availability.

It's no biggie, as I did that before the availability page came out. Just isn't as efficient.

Yeah it seems a bit all over the place atm, showing partial availability when there is none and vice versa!

Yes!! I keep checking it for an October trip!! I checked just today, yet again. When will it be correct?!

I believe the RAT is correct. My theory is that it shows nights available immediately after a cancellation happens, but before the night(s) are actually released by the booking engine. I recently saw a night I wanted that was showing as available by the RAT. I went to book and it was not available. I kept trying to book it and after about 10 minutes or so, it was available to book and I booked it.

I didn't notice whether the RAT points were correct or not - didn't much care. I knew what I wanted and what the point charts said it cost. I use David's calculator if I need to compare point costs between resorts. It's faster and easier.

Something I noticed yesterday is that the order of the resorts has changed. They've definitely been doing something with the tool in more ways than one.

I often use the Tagrel calculator if I need to compare although that's more from habit. Or a spreadsheet that I made if I want to quickly find something that matches up to an exact number of points, but the RAT is probably just as fast as any of them and you know about the availability at the same time. As long as it's correct! The RAT is one of the most helpful things DVC has done with the website. Again, if it works.
