Quick Dining Reviews from 9/3 - 9/10

Just thought I'd share my reviews on our dining this trip. We were in WDW from 9/3-9/10 and had an amazing trip. We did not have the DDP, but we still made a few ADR's. We paid for all meals, QS and snacks with Disney gift cards and it worked out so well! We had so much money on our gift cards, we ended up making some last minute ADR's to some popular places! We will definitely do that again next year. I have never done a dining review with pics before so bear with me and enjoy!

Saturday 9/3 - Garden Grill dinner - This is our arrival day trip tradition. We love this place. The food never disappoints and we always request a booth on the lower level, to see the scenes from LWTL. Our ADR was for 5:20pm and we were seated exactly on time, even requesting a booth. The food was brought out on a skillet type pan instead of the long white plate like before. Food was good, but we were not fans of the sausage this time. It didn't even look cooked all the way. We loved the dessert! shortcake with berries and fresh whipped cream! YUM!

Sunday 9/4 - Quick BC Marketplace stop and get us something to hold us over until breakfast. First Mickey Waffles of the trip!!!

Breakfast @ Sleepy Hollow Refreshments - all year we planned on finally getting the Nutella and Fruit waffle after my nieces 1st hair cut appointment at park opening. These were delicious! Oh my goodness, why did it take me so long to have one? This is a must every trip from now on. My parents even went again to have them for dinner before MNSSHP on 9/8 lol.

Dinner was at BOG this night. Me, my sister and her DH all ordered the French onion soup and the steak. My favorite used to be the shrimp and scallops but they changed it to a pasta dish and I was not in the mood for pasta. The steak was fantastic! That garlic mayo dipping sauce for the fries was AMAZINGLY GOOD!

Monday 9/5 - Cape May Café Breakfast - since we were staying at the BC, it only made sense to book this one. My niece loved the characters! The buffet was great! My favorite part had to be the crepes made to order. I had banana, strawberry and chocolate crepes and they were delicious! Wish we took pictures of the actual buffets, but you get so caught up in the moment when you are there. We really enjoyed this breakfast and we will return next September to do it again.

Continued from 9/5 - We spent the morning and early afternoon at DHS. We had to get a snack and a mickey pretzel was calling my name!

We headed back to Beach Club once it started to pour around 2pm. Took the boat back and just relaxed. We spent the evening at Disney Springs and I cannot believe we did not take pictures of our dinner. We wanted to have dinner at Blaze Pizza but it was packed there. So headed over to D-Luxe Burger. It was great! We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water with the lanterns - so beautiful!! We really enjoyed our burgers. Me, my sister and my mom had the classic burger and my stepdad and BIL ordered the Diablo Burger. We all liked them. I wasn't a huge fan of the french fries.

We stopped at Sprinkles after dinner, for dessert! Couldn't wait to finally have a cupcake! I ordered the Sprinkle cupcake and a Banana Cupcake - the banana was the winner! OMG it was so perfect! My sister got the Sprinkle and a Chocolate cupcake - she enjoyed hers!

Tuesday 9/6 - Early Morning Magic - We had EMM at MK this morning. The breakfast buffet at Pinocchios Village Haus was surprisingly great! Wish we would have taken pictures of the buffet and the offerings, but I only have 1 photo of the amazing french toast. I did a review on this event on the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board. We loved this event and we really hope they offer this next year.

We did AK during the evening. We decided on Flame Tree BBQ for dinner since the Yak & Yeti QS was already closed for the day. We all ordered the chicken. Always so good!

Wednesday 9/7 - PPO Akershus Breakfast - This is one of favorite breakfasts in WDW. This did not disappoint! My niece loved the princesses and the food is so good! We love the cold buffet options and the hot foods that are brought to the table. We will be returning next year for sure! We were finished breakfast just after 9am and the posted wait time for FEA was 30 minutes already. We walked right on it. It definitely wasn't 30 minutes, more like 5 lol. We loved the ride.

Around 12:30pm, we made our walk back to the Beach Club.. but not before stopping at the Refreshment Port for the amazing Croissant Donut!!! We stopped for these multiple times this week. My stepdad even snuck one in his luggage home! LOL They are just cinnamon sugar greatness!

That night we got a last minute ADR for Cape May Café for dinner - We love Cape May for both breakfast and dinner. The buffet has some really great options, even a lot of great options for the non-seafood eaters! My DM took the baby over to the Boardwalk while we went to dinner, to have a nice quiet meal lol. This was the nice part about staying right at the Beach Club. No need for transportation to/from Cape May and we were able to meet right back up with my parents after dinner.

I love the mac and cheese at Cape May! I gotta say though, I was not a fan of the fried shrimp. There just wasn't enough breading. We love our fried shrimp fried like a chicken cutlet lol. Everything else was just fine!

These Smore's desserts were very good but very rich! I could not eat the whole thing and that was not a big glass.

Thursday 9/8 - Breakfast at Ohana! This was another ADR we got the night before because we had so much money left on our gift cards. I actually enjoy getting ADR's last minute. There was so much availability every time we looked for something. We had an 8:30am Ohana ADR. We took the bus from BC to MK and then we hopped on the monorail and got off at the TTC and walked to the Poly from there. We did it that way because my niece woke up very early that morning and she was so tired by this point, so we wanted her to take a nap and the walk to the Poly made her do that. She woke up as soon as we were seated, just in time for breakfast and more characters!

We loved the breakfast here! Those potatoes were delicious! Everything was great!

That night we got a last minute ADR for Cape May Café for dinner - We love Cape May for both breakfast and dinner. We are huge fans of Cape May Cafe too! That was the one request everyone agreed with for Thanksgiving dinner this year. Mmmm Turkey, mashed potatoes and crab legs for dinner!

Thank you! She absolutely loved the whole trip. She made it even more perfect and harder to leave when it was over. So many people told us she was too young (1 1/2 years old) and wouldn't remember anything. This trip proved that wasn't the case at all. She had so much fun. She loved walking around the lobby each day, talking and waving to other guests and the CM's! It was the cutest thing. We are taking her again next year and she'll be 2 1/2 years old.

Thursday 9/8 Dinner - Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

This is a trip tradition for us every year! We always do the HDDR and we could not wait to bring my niece to this show. She loves loud, dancing, music and people so this was right up her alley. I was nervous before our ADR. We did the 4pm show since I was going to MNSSHP that night. The baby took a nap in the room, and we had to wake her up at 3pm to head to the bus to MK. She was not happy and cried when she woke up. I thought this dinner was going to be a disaster and she wouldn't enjoy it. She feel back asleep as soon as we got on the bus and slept during the boat ride to Fort Wilderness. We got there and she was still sleeping in her stroller and we did not want to wake her, so they were going to change our table, which was front and center at the stage so that we had room for the stroller. She ended up waking up right before we were seated and she was so happy! So we sat at our original table at the stage. We usually do the 6:15pm show. The 4pm show was half empty, I couldn't believe it. She had so much fun, dancing and clapping along. There was a part when Six Bits was galloping on stage, and my niece started galloping in her highchair - it was the cutest thing and everyone was cracking up. We have some amazing video from the GoPro of her having a blast at this show. They put the strawberry shortcake on the table and her face lit up and she took it upon herself to grab the spoon and dig in LOL! It was our favorite ADR of the trip!

I agree that your DD is the perfect age (and it seems she has the right temperament) for WDW. We took our DS when he was 11 months in 2014 and it was wonderful for all of us! We leave in 3 weeks and I hope our trip is as successful as yours!

I think Labor Day week and its emptiness really helped with the ADR's. It was nice to choose something on a whim for once.

The only problem we had with the baby, was her not eating anything all trip. My sister does not know what it was - may have been because she was too excited and being at a new place for the first time. All she would eat was some fruit and her snacks from her snack cup the whole trip. She had a little bit of chicken at HDDR and bites of mickey waffles, but that was it. The day we got home, she ate her dinner like normal. So strange.

Friday 9/9 - Breakfast at Crystal Palace! This was another ADR we got on a whim, the night before! It was a sad day... our last full day of vacation. We already talked about dates and resort for next year by this time, so it made the parting a little easier. We'll be back Sept 3-12th and we loved the Beach Club so much, we are going to stay there again.

Don't let her fool you, she barely ate! LOL

Friday 9/9 - We went to Hurricane Hannas for lunch and we all had the kids meals. I got the chicken nuggets and my sister got the kids cheeseburger.

We went to Epcot for our last evening. So sad! It was beautiful weather and the crowds were non-existent! Soarin was only a 15 minute wait! We went over to the fountains near the Imagination Pavilion and these were a huge hit with my niece. I know this isn't food, but this was one of our favorite moments of the trip. That face is what made this trip so worth it! Never too young for Disney!

Dinner tonight was at Teppan Edo. Yet another last minute ADR - man this is great! I guess we forgot to take pictures of our plate! Sorry!

Great reviews and pictures. Your daughter....as I'm sure you've heard before, is adorable and just seems so happy!

You hit some great restaurants....we haven't been to Cape May as of yet but we were resort hopping this August and agreed to eat there on our next trip. You kind of swayed me into going to Garden Grill too....so many trips for us and we've never eaten there. We love Sunshine Seasons but this seems like a nice place and being able to hear some of LWTL is the icing on the cake [that attraction is one of my faves]. Puts me in a happy place!

Loved your reviews. Your niece is too cute. We have taken my granddaughter every august for three years. She was 4 months old, then 16 months old, and last August (probably the week before you were there) she was 2 1/2 years old. Every year is a new trip with her. We also stayed at BC. We normally stay at the YC but were interested in new rooms (BC). We are hoping to get a refurbed room at the YC. Isn't that pool the best? Would love to go the week you go but we have too many teachers in our family so we need to be back by then. Here's hoping next year comes quick for both of us.

That whole resort stole my heart lol. I booked my next 2 trips there! I loved the pool - it really is something else! We spent every afternoon at the pool and just relaxed. We loved the rooms and the location of our rooms! We were booked in standard view, and only requested ground floor and they gave us rooms that faced the main courtyard and we were steps away from the lobby and BC Marketplace - awesome! We loved Labor Day week. Once the holiday was over, the parks were empty and Stormalong Bay was empty. This was our first September trip (we usually go in November). We enjoyed it so much, we'll be back next Sept. We got lucky because it is very rainy there now, and we only had rain twice and a few days it was sunny, breezy and no humidity.
