Last Sunday night at this time we were listening to loud thunder, bright lightening and heavy, hard rain resulting in 10-20 inches in our county. A week later, the Brazos River is still running swiftly and high. Crossing this bridge on I-10, we can normally see most of the tree trunks along the river....

I took part in a photography workshop that a couple of friends were hosting in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our 1st night, we went to Clingmans Dome for sunset pictures, but the rain moving into the area over night didn't cooperate. Instead, we were left with some fantastic light rays poking through the clouds and painting the mountains in yellow and orange.
