Don't feel so bad, we all have months like that, and you get a do-over....February. It's the perfect month to succeed. It's short, it's cold so we don't go anywhere. I can't wait for February! :goodvibes

Here's to February !:thumbsup2

I worked from home yesterday and arranged the hours so I could get a huge block mid day when the kids weren't home to dig out the rooms. We're changing DS2's room from the nursery to a Cars theme. Paint is done but cupboards and closets were full so I dug those out. DD4's room is overstuffed with stuffed animals. Holy cow! And she's asthmatic so its not a good thing. I dug through and its amazing! What a wonderful room she has when she can move it it! DS7's is stilli n a bit of chaos but an organizer is going from his room to DS2's room when I change the theme so it'll have to stay taht way for a little bit. Overall, I'm pleased with the progress. My plan this year was to dig out our house. I have so much to sell now. I sold a whack of stuff (over $1000 worth) last spring and now I have more. LIttle time to deal with people coming by to see it though. I may just bring a bunch of it to consignment.

I was hopeful to make it to 15 $0 days this month but didn't make it, though I am proud of myself for a good effort. I am used to going to the store daily for fruit and veggies as my refrigerator is going and seems to freeze most fruits and veggies, plus we just eat a ton of salad and fruit. But anyway, I made it till 12, was hoping to make 13 (today) but a friend had her baby so I had to go to get a gift. (She didn't know what she was having.) Tomorrow is a possibility but going into the weekend is not likely at all, plus we need fruit, and while I was going to get it today, I got very busy and after work it was a blizzard and I just wanted to get home.

So, I will be happy with 12 or 13 for the month. I now I have saved some money if no other then the gas of running to the store daily, and time and that is valuable! We are planning on a new refrigerator soon so that will help too!

By the way, did good with the baby gift! :yay: Baby gift and a big sister gift for $10 (both makrked down a bunch.)

Ok, so its -33C (-27F) here this morning. Freaking cold! Makes me really wish we planned that trip to Jamaica rather than putting a bathroom in our basement.

Just did the colours on my budget.... over in every single category except gas which really, isn't accurate because it doesn't show what DH spends in gas... probably over there too... :sad2:

Got my life insurance bill yesterday (thought it was due in April) and read in the paper our property taxes are being increased by 4%... February has to stay on budget!

C'mon February :banana:C'mon February

I am down to $2.00 dollars left. I am going to make it.

Honestly haven't left the house since Tuesday except to take the kids to the bus stop. A whole mess of $0.00 days.

I am so excited to start February. I usually have $900 food budget for the month. My goal is $400 or $100 per week.

FYI my food budget includes all cleaning supplies dog and cat food and paper products. One way I save is I have stopped buying paper products almost entirely (except for TP of course) and I have been using vinegar and water to clean lots of things. Works like a charm. Other than that I am cutting out most of the things that are pre-packaged junk. Most but not all....I'm happy with my progress, looking forward to February and than in March I get an extra paycheck.....happy happy happy.

1/29/10: $1.06 McD's coffee, $1.50 bus fare, $3.48 Taco Bell, $2.01 Cafe Au Lait (at HBC), $1.06 t-shirt, $5.17 Groceries (valu market) and $1.00 jar of Instant Coffee

I'm not doing well in categories. Spending more than planned for, but NOT borrowing (which is good).
Less impulse spending with no (or little) regard to what it does to my financial picture.:teacher:
