My sick Guinea Pig

I have a sick guinea pig, named Teek.

A couple friends wanted me to post a picture. She is not feeling well. I have to bring her back to the vet sometime this week. Not sure if she has an infection or what but she's not eating as much. She is taking antibiotics now but doesn't see to be working yet.

Aww, how cute! I know with some tender loving care and a little bit of the Jedi ways, little Teek will be aok. Teek is a very cute name Jedi. I am a little surprised you didn't call her Wickett or Dagoba System though.

OK funny story about when i was little and had a guinea pig. I wanted to clean her cage outside. My mom told me i wasn't big enough and that i needed help. I told her, "i can do it mom". (I was only 4 years old, but going on 20) Well i took the cage outside, opened the door and my little guinea pig ran out of the cage to freedom. So the moral of the story is, never open cages outside! lol Just a little story to cheer you up Jedi. Hugs my friend.

Don't worry guinea pigs are my favorite animal. It is either a passing cold or you should probably check the food. There were pet food recalls on dog and cat foods. Maybe there is for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs actually are intelligent and it might be her way of saying "Hey dude this guinea food is no good chow chow." Anyways she is a very nice looking guinea pig. Her area in the background is a great environment for her .

My prayers will be with her no matter what. I love guinea pigs just as much as I love Diana DeGarmo and that's alot. There both an obsession for me.

Thanks all for the warm get well wishes for Teek. Actually Ant, she is named after a Star Wars character! If any of you have seen the Ewok movies there was a character named Teek. He was a small furry white creature the was really fast. LOL So my guinea pig looked like him so that's the story behind the name. She is 2 yrs 9 months old according to the vet at the place I bought her. Well actually my ex-fiance bought her but I ended up keeping her when we separated.(i got the kid, lol) Since some of you have had guinea pig let me ask this. I just notice that one of her front four main teeth is broken. I think the vet missed this. I don't know how. One of the top two teeth is broken, could this affect how she eats? Do they grow back? This might be why she isn't eating as much and getting sick.

I just notice that one of her front four main teeth is broken. I think the vet missed this. I don't know how. One of the top two teeth is broken, could this affect how she eats? Do they grow back? This might be why she isn't eating as much and getting sick.

Hmm, according to this site, their teeth should grow back in about 2 weeks. It also said that broken or missing teeth may affect their eating. You may want to follow-up with the vet and find out if they did check her teeth. I hope all goes well.

I thought about that but I haven't put anything new in the cage. Same shavings/bedding same food. She's eating a little more tonight.

This can have some effect on her eating habits. My first guinea pig had a bad habit of chewing on her cage and broke her top teeth several times but one at a time. Definitely want to make sure to keep an eye on the bottom ones though to make sure they don't grow into the space left. The first time mine did it I brought her into the vet and they clipped the other top tooth so they matched and told me to keep an eye to make sure things grew evenly. The other times I would notice that the tooth was broken and by the time I was able to try to bring her in the tooth already had grown back.

Teek is a cutie and hope she starts to feel better soon!

Hey all! Thanks again for all the well wishes for my piggy. Good new and update. She has started to get better i believe. She's eating more and jumping around. Her poop is not completely normal but she seems to be doing better. And her tooth is growing back. Thank you for all the warm wishes. It's helping!
