i was thinking of going to las vagas and was wondering what hotel 2 go with.first time on plane and going there.or tell me a good hotel 2 go with.me and hubby are going feb 22 to feb 26.

I have stayed at both - and prefer Flamingo. All depends on what you want as well as prices though.

At Flamingo I stayed in the Go Deluxe room. I tried a bunch of discount codes and ended up getting that for a super rate. Fab rooms were cheaper but I decided to upgrade to the Go Deluxe for a more Vegas-like experience (for really little money). The Flamingo hallways are a little run down - but inside the room was great. The rest of the Flamingo (the casino, etc) were fine. Not over the top luxurious - but the price was very right and it came with some cool amenities. I could have gotten some of the budget places a bit cheaper or about the same price - but the Go Deluxe room was priced very well for what we got. Absolutely loved the floor to ceiling windows and the electronic switch for the drapes.

The next year I stayed at the Luxor because DH wanted to try the pyramid shaped rooms. At that time, the going rate was about the same as the Flamingo Go rooms. It was kinda cool to have a slanted wall and the room was clean. They have stripped the place of a lot of its theming so its not as fun as I heard it once was. Otherwise, the place was fine, especially for the price.

Overall the price is right for the Flamingo and Luxor.

What I liked about staying in 2 different places was the opportunity to be at different ends of the strip. The Flamingo trip we focused on Bellagio/Aria/Planet Hollywood and did the Caesars Buffet of Buffet pass. The Luxor trip we watched shows at MGM and New York New York. So consider what are the major things you want to do. I can hike for miles - but walking in Vegas always wipes me out! On our Flamingo trip we had wanted to watch a show at the Luxor - but when the time came, we were just so tired out from all the walking that it just sounded too exhausting to get there. So we watched a show at Planet Hollywood instead.

Have fun!

Just stayed at the luxor, thought it was great for the price. Our next trip we plan on moving up a bit and staying at the MGM Grand. Tendor and Rice and Company at the Luxor have fabulous food.
